Getaway

I've never participate in any Treasure Hunt of any sort.

This was my first, and definitely won't be my last.

What is more fun that participating in a TreasureHunt, with a team made up of your own family members? It was a cross-border event, which also promotes Visit Malaysia 2007 (Hence the stickers on the participating cars)

It was a wet morning. It's been pouring since the wee hours that day. But it didn't dampen any of the participants enthusiasm a single bit. Everyone was in high spirit, and couldnt wait to get it started. As for me, I was not psyched, mainly cos I didnt get a good sleep the night before, thanks to the mat rempits burning the needle-straight 4-lane newly paved road behind my house; the other was because I spent long hours travelling.

LCCT was such a sight, the first impression it gave me was that it resembles the Melbourne International Airport. It was however a little troublesome to get there, an hour and fifteen minutes ride from KL Sentral to LCCT is rather illogical, cos the flight itself only took less than 55 minutes. Perhaps they should do something about the hour long journey to get there, and make use of the million dollar ERL.

Back to the mat rempits, I should have got up and grab a bag of gravels and start throwing at them. Or make a huge oilspill so that they'll go down together. Sakit hati, sakit telinga.

The Hunt starts from Alor Setar Mall and the last checkpoint would be in a rest area in Changloon, before we head to Hatyai.
The estimated distance that will be covered is 71KM. We were given a 5KM margin, and if you clocked more than that, faham faham la..you took another route to reach the final checkpoint. Clock in more than the given margin, you're disqualified.
We were given 4 hours to finish the Hunt, from the time we were clocked off.
But before we got it going, we had an hour long briefing (in 3 languages), explaining the rules and how to read the manuals, and also how to read the question sheet and fill out the answer sheet. While he was explaining, we havent seen the manuals yet, so we were just listening and tried to remember whatever he was saying.

We were flagged off at 10am, manuals were given out.

Everything I've been trying to absorb just minutes earlier almost faded entirely. Whats all those numbers and what am I suppose to do with it? Haha. As we left the starting point, we started out trying to understand how the sheets and the manual is suppose to work as a pair~
It was until the fourth question, that it finally made sense to add up the numbers on the sheets, that marks the location of the object in question. -.- Lucky us we had a future number crunching auditor on board. Haha. It's all fun from there onwards.

The questions and clues, brought us from AlorSetar, to Kuala Kedah (where you can hop on a ferry to Langkawi), right across the border to Kangar, Perlis, and all the way to Changloon before we head to our final destination at Lee Gardens, Hatyai.

Don't you just love this?

The wet weather was perfect for a set up for a perfect view of paddy fields, as far as the eye can see. I was simply enjoying the greenery around me, and it feels so good to be in the greens again. The concrete jungle back in KL is simply adding on the stress.

It's a test of navigational skills and mathematical skills, the skills to interpret printed words into visual feeds. One lesson learnt, Tresure Hunt means going down and look for it, not sitting in the car and see whatever you can. It was raining, so we didnt get off. =P At least we learnt something, eh?

We reached Changloon, its time for lunch. Had something light at the rest area, and we head to Hatyai. Had to catch some snooze time, I'm just drop dead tired. Occasionally I opened my eyes and see signages bearing words that curve and twist that looks familiar but incomprehensible to me. Welcome to Thailand. Zzzz..

We checked in to the hotel, had a quick shower and we're out again. Food food and more food!

Later that night, we had dinner at the hotel, where the winners and loser were announced. Trophies and prize money were given away. Lots of beer and lots of fun. Love the spirit of the Hash members. Lost of booze. I remember downing alot, thats it. Sitting at the same table with dad and his friends, one of which is also my friend, we downed one glass after another. There was also a lucky draw. They gave away everything, from T-shirts, to RC cars, to fishing rods, to a car battery ( -.-'') and all sorts of things which I cant make out from afar, though I'm sitting at the first table. -.-' Thought it was all over, when its down to 2 remaining prizes to be given away. 0105! Mum's!! A set of tyres -.-'
And the last prize, a set of 17' Rims and tyres to come with it, 0104!!! MINE!!!!!!
Woohoo~

Not forgetting the food, its all hot and spicy. Had my first taste of Thai green curry, and its good! The 2 days spent there, my stomich is all filled with Thai fest of hot stuff. -.-' Good food~

When Hallucinations Crosses the Border..

"I'm hallucinating!! Lets go grab something! I crave Lok Lok! I crave Starbucks GreenTea Frap!! I want wantan mee, but only the best!" My mind can think of nothing but food! I can't sit still, I've been sitting there for two freaking long days and I have more to come! I crave ikan Bakar kat belakang tuuuu.. Dumpling soup?! Is it good is it good?! "

"We go for a quick grab. I mean QUICK. Ikan bakar. Rojak. Eggtarts. Lohbak."

"If my stomach is not filled, I cannot do my work. BYE. Quick dash! You wanna follow?"

I'm IN. Lets ciao. Over and OUT.

Off we went. That was a pretty quick dash down to KL and back. Grabbed two Greentea frap, one with cream and one without. I've been a Starbucks lover even though I quit coffee ages ago. Never tried GreenTea frap until just now. Whoosh. Was a blast. For my throat, tummy and brain. Froze in no time. kekkeke.

I was already freezing the first few gulps. (and I was thinking that its normal to freeze after taking in the freshly blended fraps..Never experience anything like that with coffee..) Hands and legs were shivering. The funny thing was, we both only came to realise that we're shivering only when we were about to reach home! -.- We're such ... cows. -.-''

Love the spontaneity. =P *hugs*

F.A.T

You wake up in the morning, get a cold shower to give you that Ummmmph, to get you up and moving.

And of course, have breakfast. Never skip breakfast, unless its Sundays where waking up late is just so well deserved. But wait.. Sunday is 1,2,3,4,5,6 days away. Damn. Nevermind.

And when I was about to clean up and leave for work, I got a scare. Cos.. all my life, I've never seen something like this in a sink..

Black round eyes looking up at me. Guess it was unable to move or anything. And its F.A.T.
with Big round eyes. -.-

Got no time to do anything to it. Running late. So.. Eww, thamby! it stayed there the rest of the day!!!

When I got home later that evening, done with dinner and I wanna wash up.
When I looked down, Whoosh! The monster is still there!!
It was in the sinkhole that leads to the drainpipe.
Perhaps thats not a good place to cool yourself off, little lizzy. A Swimming pool? Didn't know lizards can swim, in a drained pool. Haha. I got a shock anyway, cos its late evening and its dark at that corner, and when you suddenly realise there's a pair of big round eyes staring blankly at you, you'd freak. Haha.

Anyway, Thamby, I thought you'd like to see this, so I got it on video. On what I did to it. Pretty smart lizard who never let go of any chances of surviving. *grins* But silly enough to get itself end up there in the first place.

Alexandria

IF I were to judge by its looks, I would NEVER never buy this CD.
Kinda messed up, aint it?

But I fell in love with what lies beneath this awful looking cover.
What I get from within outweighs what I get from the exterior.
The beauty of its contents reflects a different hue on its surface.
A beauty from within.

Soulfully satisfying.

*I love this version of their songs.

National Pride

Shell gave Malaysians another chance to show Singaporeans that we're equally Kiasu.

Free petrol vouchers must be a pretty brilliant idea by Shell. With all the rising cost sprouting from the increase in petrol prices; therefore with kacang putih bank accounts, I oughta stick more medals on my car, and try to get myself some free petrol vouchers. But hey, paying RM50 to get a Medal? The word FREE really blinds people. Smartie idea to get the people to empty their tanks faster so that they can refuel and GET MORE MEDALS! Scam. You get what you paid for~ There's no such thing as Free.

Tinted screens are no longer the "in" thing. Medals are. Just like the proud owner of the above Proton. What better way to show your patriotism than to drive a national car bearing not the national flag but Shell Medals?

Drop it like its Hot.

Nobody sent me anything about people sticking their fingers into their noses. In public. Nevermind.

When you thought that the world had just turned its back on you, think again. It's not that bad if you learn to see it from a different angle. Not literally. Mentally.

Think you have a borrrrrring job? Try something new. Sticking your a*se to the chair, slogging away 9-5 aint your cup of tea? Switch. I've found a cool job. This.

Cool, aint it? People spend hundreds to abseil from mountainsides. This is equivalent to that, but instead of mountainside, you'll be roping down windows. Whats more, unlike mountainside where you syok sendiri and people can ass-look from below or see your big head from above,
people can see you in action. And even snap pictures of you! Hehe. Life is about making Choices.

Flame Grilled, anyone?

Dell's mass recall of battery packs made the headlines today. Grrreat.

As I'm typing this, the laptop was where a laptop was suppose to be, on my lap. To envision my laptop engulfed in a minor inferno was kinda scary, especially when my lap is exposed to such danger of getting flame-grilled. Gee..

I've checked my battery pack a couple of times, and it wasn't part of the recall. Won't exactly say that I'm relieved though. You know, electronic stuffs are kinda.. unpredictable. You'll never know when they decide to blow up. *gulps*

So, its time to leave all those electronic stuffs behind. Stick to the old school. Scream and shout at your pals across the streets if you need to talk, urgently. Nevermind others around you, they can choose not to hear. Or.. think of it as strong wind slapping your face. *Slaps* Stick to desktops, drop everything Mobile. Anything that has the word "Mobile".

With Liquid now officially banned on international flights and at airports, I will not have the slightest doubt that portable computers and cellphones will be next. Along with the brothers and sisters of the mobile technology, we're becoming the victim of our own inventions.

Maybe in the near future, we needn't wear anything over our birthday suits, we don't need to. After all, airports will be equipped with high end equipment that will allow them to see through the passenger's clothes. Why do we need clothes then? Save them alot more time, and our time too.

One thing interesting about being on Malaysia roads are that, there are so many things to see. Malaysians have the most peculiar little habits. Such as digging their nose publicly, which is as usual as running your hand through your hair. I'm not sure if I'm privileged, but I get to see ALOT of that everywhere. I cringe at the sight of that. I had to.
The worst thing is that, they kept doing what they were doing even though they saw you looking at them. How's that? Ugh. The next time you see that, grab your camera phone immediately and capture them. I'm sure that those snapshots wont go to waste. Just like we could submit pictures of people cutting queues, or doing the most outrageous things with their vehicles, we could do the same about bad habits. Send it to thoughtsforjamie@yahoo.com.

What's not to like about being a Malaysian?

Walk on the Wild Side

We interpret meaning of songs just as we do facts thrown at us. Hidden meanings behind the words brilliantly used by the composer simply makes the song a mystery in its own ways. Some might never get the meaning behind it despite listening to it endlessly. Whereas for others, it hit home on the first hearing. Amazing aye?

But then again, you cant appreciate the song when someone told you to do so. Because a song that meant something to one person might not deliver the same impact on another person.

At the end of the day, what you feel matters the most. Not everything can be put down in spoken or written words. They are meant to be kept in you.

...

And He said, "Take a walk on the wild side."

My Heart Babbles

People laugh when I said I miss home.

You have to be in one's shoes to know what it feels like. What it feels like to be so far away from the place where you grew up, away from the comforts of your home, away from your parents.

At least I know what my priorities are. I cherish what I have and I''m glad I got to where I am now. I'm glad that the distance seperating my family and I, brought me something better. Family bonds. I miss home.

I once wished I could get out from home as soon as I can. It's hard living with your parents who are constantly watching your every move, at times immobilizing you. It's suffocating. I crave freedom. Half my life was spent as an athlete. The kind of exposure you get from going places, was an entirely different experience. The more you found out about the outside world, it soon became part of your life, where you want to live in it. However, my parents supported my involvement in sports, and encouraged me. I was often reminded that my grades matter just as much, but I did just the exact opposite. I've let them down time and again, silently hurting them, but they never give up hope. I came home only for meals and for a place to sleep, the rest of the time are spent training and loitering at the training grounds. Parents paid for my tuition fees, only for me to sleep during classes. I was just too tired after each training session. I failed miserably to set my priorities right.

The chain of events happening after SPM and throughout my college years, I am glad things took a turn for the better.

People said that distance makes the heart grow fonder. When distance becomes a determining factor. Watchful parents, redefined. Suffocating no more. You take all those factors that were part of your first half of life, everything felt so much different. You missed the kind of attention you used to get.

The thought of my loving parents, reduced me to tears. I miss them.

Fire Drill..

This is an emergency. Please make your way to the nearest fire exit. Take nothing else but only your belongings. *repeat a million times* The alarms went off.

Bloody hell. Why does it had to happen when I'm halfway relieving myself in the loo? Grrrreat.
*Rolls eyes* Get what I have to do done quickly, and get myself out of the lavatory.

Walked back into my office area. Found everyone there still taking their own sweet time, heehaha-ing away despite the the constant prerecorded warning that was played on and on and on, asking the staffs to evacaute the building via the fire exits.

Despite that, people carried on with their work.

You know why there's a high number of casualties when disaster struck in highrise buildings? Be it a fire, or worse come to worse : terrorist attack, or (put your own here). Reason was because people were ignorant. Ignorant about everything. Despite the state of art building with proper signage and easy to access fire exits, in cases of emergencies, they simply panicked.

Anyway, since they're gona sweep each floors to make sure that everyone's safe on ground zero, people reluctantly leave their workareas. And walked down the staircase instead of making a mad rush. I doubt that will happen in a real fire situation. Malaysians.. Making the headlines would be, "Hundreds stomped to death in mad rush down to the staircase".
.
The exercise was a failure. The building should be evacuated in 5 minutes. I think the people there took triple the estimated time to evacuate. We never take things seriously, some think its a waste of precious time.

Will we ever learn?

Awkwardly Natural

It's funny how we tend to do things awkwardly when we were told to do so by someone else. Sounds familiar? Or you don't get the idea? Ok. Here's the thing. Let's say, I told you that you're not funny. So you were taken aback by that wild remark that came from nowhere, and all of a sudden, you let that petty remark consume you wholly. There and then, you tried to be funny. You dig deep into your reserves for the funniest jokes (by your own term..) you can ever manage to recall. Blah.. It came out as cold as a chunk of turkey in the freezer.

My point is..

You can't do something naturally when you were asked to/because someone said so.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I think I've observed enough to prove to myself that this theory works. When you find yourself hurling remarks like that to people close to you, perhaps that was because you're unhappy with how the other behaved, or portray themselves as. You start to point out the weaknesses and everything they do is distasteful to you. You can smell the end is looming. It's hard to see anything good when you're already blinded with so much negativity. The chances you get to redeem yourself will never seem to be enough. Not enough to erase all those negativity. I guess it's only human that negativity reigns over positivity. Ah.. I'm not gonna blame the media again for this, but I would say that we're hardcoded to behave that way.

Invitations only invite Farewells.

Catch 'Em Catch 'Em Red Handed!

It's rude to cut queues.
You're late doesn't mean you are entitled to do so.
But hey, that's what Malaysians do. That's what makes us Malaysians! YeeHaa!

The best part was that, you can now report those who cut queues. Snap pictures of them, in action!! I read it from the Sun, I'll get the details on where I can send those pictures to tomorrow. Ter-lupa.

Updates: You can send those pictures to www.panducermat.org.my. From 2nd July til 24th August. Haha. Enjoy, people.

Note: Hey, don't crash into someone's behind while you're trying to get the best shot of them cutting queue aite? Ugly sounds of metal crashing. Tak sedap dengar, believe me.

Tell me what you call Emergency

Perhaps cars nowdays are designed to pack a little more ummph than cars do 10 years ago, people tend to demonstrate speed and power of their machines on the roads. Not rich enough to rent his own private tracks to demo power to himself. Perhaps he craves people's attention, craves other onlooker's oohs and ahhs. Thats my take.

The pendulum swings both ways.

With lots of speed and power comes accidents and deaths, besides smashed up cars and ugly scenes. Sigh.

In emergencies like that, we expect the ambulance or the fireengine to reach first. Lives of the crash victims are in their hands. But guess what? They're never the first to arrive!!

The winner: Towtrucks!!

I'm always amazed at how fast they can make their way there. Count 1,2,3,4 and 5, taDA~ they're there already..The most amazing thing was that, they don't just come in one, they come in excess numbers...

If only ambulances operate in the same way...

Know who You can Trust

"Hey, is it safe for you to walk back to your car?"

You can come up with many other versions of that. Replace "walk" and "car" with something else and you can come up with hundreds or more possibilities.

"Hey, is it safe for you to swim back to you Island?"

Haha. Kidding. Don't try that. You might get rip to pieces by the powerful jaws of the great white shark roaming the waters. (or consumed entirely *gulps* )

It's not safe anymore, not anywhere. You walk alone, you get robbed. You walk in pairs, both get robbed. Perhaps next time they'd get bolder and rob an entire group of people.

People, in fact, learn from experiences. Bad ones leave bitter aftertastes, which makes strong silent statements to make the authorities and people in power realise that things went out of hand, way out of control. It takes the death of innocent lives to start the ball rolling.

It feels rather strange to see so many RELA personnels out on the roads, on bikes and on foot, patroling the streets. I must say that all that came too late. What does the murderer do when police flood the streets? Stay in and watch Football on tv! We can only rely on the people in Uniforms to uphold safety and peace in the community. You think so? I don't.

What enrages me even more is that, those people whom we thought we could rely on, for which their sole purpose of existence was to protect the people against crimes of any sort, is far from what they seemed? One of the most outrageous encounter I've ever heard was from a friend. One of her pals was stopped by the traffic police, for one obvious traffic offence, beating the red light. Guilty as charged. She was expecting to be booked for that offence, but hey, the policeman surprised her with something else. He asked for her number instead. And further said that they should go out for a drink sometime. Freaking out, tears rolled down her cheeks, prompting the other policeman to ask her to drive away. Sicko. Tell me who can we trust?

Guess we have our ownself to defend from now onwards. You people out there, take good care of yourself and be on alert, be on radar. Pepper sprays don't work, use baseball bats. Haha. I'm kidding. If you kill anyone by accident, don't tell the cops you got the idea from me. Kekke..

Even waste metal like this get smashed up and Ransacked..

Traffic 101

Need to be a more patient person? Try the Traffic Therapy.
It's no small feat to navigate through this sort of heavy traffic every morning.
In fact, it's a new challenge everyday. It takes the workforce of the entire Intelligence Agency to figure out the Optimum time to depart and the estimated time it takes to reach your destination. Isn't that a Cool Job?

There's an old saying, Time is money. A more appropriate saying for the 21st century motorists, Time is Everything. It amuses me sometimes on how much impact a 2 minutes delay made so much difference on the roads. I mean the traffic. Who knows that forecasting the traffic would boom into something as big as forecasting stock market shares or FOREX rates!

Traffic 101 :
1) Consider The time you take off.
2) Keep a constant watch on the level of traffic already on the road.
3) Assess the situation. (Assess all lubangs and every inch of space spotted.
4) Stick to the moving lane, of course. Static ones drives you up the wall..
5) We Malaysians need to be more considerate people. Allow those who cut queues to chip in in front of you. Don't curse or wave anything obscene at other. Be nice. (What I meant was, add extra buffer time for each car that chipped in right in front of you.)
6) Watch as magic unfolds in front of you. Be amazed by how a two lane street doubled to a four lane. Maybe 5.
7) Traffic Lights. They are to be ignored on mornings and evenings. Watch out for White gloves. And oh, you've got to triple the time of the usual stop at red lights. (Note: Extra extra buffer time) And also, you've gota put in Extra Extra time in this case, cos you'll never know when an entourage of 500ccs and golden plated expensive big ass cars are coming your way. They have the right to stop all other moving objects to make way for them.

You should be prepared for the Malaysian Roads. Good Luck.

Work Overload?

Self explanatory.
My point is...Work does not always end up this way.
All we need is a little balance between work and play.
Play as hard at work as you did at play.
But of course put on that serious face you need when its time to work. (and a serious mind)

I can see how that situation (referring to the picture above) is potentially harmful.
It reduces your happiness level, and you don't get as hyped as you did before, even on Fridays.
The next time your Co offers you a Laptop, dont jump for joy, Ask for a Desktop, so that work stays where it should be, at the office, not tagging along wherever you go.
You wanna object my claims, want to tell me that it simply show how Irresponsible I am, I'll tell you that's crap.
Because if you're happy doing what you do, work won't have to follow you home. You'd be more than happy to finish what you think you had to.

Everyday satisfaction is far better than once off satisfaction that come by after long periods of depression? That's not right. Why torture yourself by making your environment such a depressing place to be in?

Smile more. We need that daily shots of laughter. Talk about something else besides work over meals. Work doesn't need to tag along everywhere. If you don't control work, it'll control you. Being a Workaholic isnt necessarily bitter. They know what keeps them going. Determined individuals.

Which is why we need this :

Every office building must be "equipped" with this. A very positive Reinforcement, don't you agree?

*Provided the Expenses are fully paid by respective bosses.

Who said we can't make the world a better place to work in?

Elevator, a Major Health Hazard

Just like any other elevator systems in tall buildings, the ones in M Tower is no different. There are different sets of elevators; serving the lower levels and the upper levels.

They are numbered :
1-12
14-24
25-34
35-44

I used to be on the 25th. So each time I get into the elavator, it'll always reach the 25th first, therefore I'm the first to get out. Likewise when I'm going down to the lobby, you can almost think of it like it's just one floor down, cos it goes all the way without stopping. Pleasant ride each day...

Until I moved to the 12th. the 12TH!!!...
Look at the numbers again. It's the last floor of the Lower Level!!!

Last time, a typical ride on the elevator would be like this:
From Level 1, going up.. *zaaaappppp* *Beep* Tingkat 25.. *Smiles happily and steps out..

NOW...
From Level 1, going up (I've never been on an empty elevator car, yet~)
*Fingers punching buttons on the elevator wall *punch*punch*
Buttons light up as they were punched (and it lights up the fire in me too..)
The More buttons that light up, the more I'm burning..
Stops at 3, 5 and 6. Should go all the way up.
Manage to grin a little.

However, it was shortlived.

Ground to a stop, picks up Passangers from 7th. He punched button number 8.
*great.. smacks head
Passenger from 7th got off at 8th, Passenger from 8th hopped on, punched button number 10.
*I'm burning already. 2nd degree.
Passenger from 8th dropped off at 10th, Passenger from 10th got in! Punches button number 11!!!!
I was fuming. Seriously. Third degree burns.
After Passenger from 10th got off, I finally make it to the 12th. Ugh. Can you see how easily a good morning is spoilt? Haha. Damn it.
And oh, the Same case applies for the way down from 12th floor. Literally makes a stop at every other floor, I wanna cough blood and die in there.

I finally understood why people from the upper floors always pull a long sour face and sigh non stop. Because they have to stop at ALMOST every floor all the way down!!!

I finally understood...

He Who Has the Right to Hog the Street.

Malaysians are ranked third rudest in the world?
I'll tell you that it is much deserved. We didn't get there by chance. We earned it.

What happens when an expensive big ass car came along, head to head, along a narrow single lane road? Share-share laH~
Common sense of space tells you that 2 cars can fit into a single lane. It's either you have bad sense of space, or your license is bought by sumbat-ing money into the tester (is that what they're called??) pocket, you're a loser either way.

Common sense also tells you that when two cars meet head to head along a narrow lane, move to the side laH~ But big ass car with big ass bald man behind the wheels, hogged the entire road. Drove right through in the middle. With no space left to budge so that big ass car can pass without scraping each other's side mirrors off, I stopped my small ass car. Until then only he came to his senses, to move to his side of the lane. So big ass man wasn't really happy that cheap small ass car didnt make way for his big ass car. So he pulled his car right next to mine, and gives a stare. I stared back, long and hard. I'm disgusted. Ptui~

Ptui Ptui Ptui~~

He who has the right to hog the street? Excuse my Ass.

Rang a Bell

Trust?
It's that special feeling that you had when you interact with someone, be it an old friend or strangers. Being comfortable and less threatened by the other party, and felt that you could open yourself to them.

There are times when you simply could not bring yourself to talk about certain things.

People judge people based on their own reasons and observations. There are alot of things that people could see from the appearance, but what's inside, they could only guess. Unless they hear it from that person, personally.

There are people who thinks they are some smart ass Morons who could read other people like a book. And even declare himself/herself as a Highly experienced person. No doubt that through experience we get all the help we need to wisen up and be a stronger person. But claming of being the "know-it-all" is just ridiculous, and you're making a fool out of yourself. Nobody can read another person like a book. Your mind simply came up with a "guideline" where you classify/categorized/group people under a certain label according to what your eyes fed your brain with. You're just plain guessing, and you got lucky. One time, two times, three times, four? Lucky.

When you still havent hear from the person yourself, you're still Guessing. So, stop acting smart.

We cannot always assume people know things without us telling. It's just doesn't work that way.
Assumptions can make a big mess out of a small thing.
The Truth might hurt but most people will be glad to hear it from you.

There's two sides in every story.
We'll never know who might sink a sharpened knife in your back. Perhaps we should becareful of the amount of trust we offer? People often take those (with good qualities to offer) for granted. ALWAYS listen to both sides (whenever you can, if you can't, Dig deeper) =P Trust your gut feelings. (But that doesnt work on a person who based their judgement on logical and practical thinking, Damn~ )

Its 1236am right now, and I'm typing away in the dark, listening to my favourite songs on my playlist. Surprisingly I found peace.

Had been making fun of the line "Ni you mei you Jiang". I find it hilarious. At the same time I am disgusted at the kind of teenagers the schools are producing in our country. Smart ones are getting smarter (academically) while others simply linger around the average line, bopping up and down or sink to the very bottom. Bullies in school had been there all these while, just that this time around, HighTech Malaysians are able to capture the ugly scenes and post it on the Internet for the world to see. Eye opening I would say? Agree? By the way, installing CCTV in schools is the most outrageous solution I've ever heard to curb bullies. Upbringing of a child plays a major role in shaping the kind of person they grow up into. Parents are the first to be blamed. Educate the parents perhaps? Maybe PM Bad-awi have something to say about this?

I'm still a big fan of Toon Dr. M.

*shall not discuss further.

Ni you mei you jiang?! Ni you mei you jiang?!
Mei you jiang ni jiu huan shou!

Gosh. I should really shut my big mouth, NOW. I don't want to put myself into that tough situation. Such chicken. Sue me.

smack me smack me smack me harD! =P

Gritty, determined character.

Planetary Talk

Last week....

I was introduced to someone who called himself "god". The moment you hear "god" it makes you think which shameless moron dared to liken himself to God. Shameless. I L.O.A.T.H.E him before he even speaks. Too much ego too much pride. And I didn't talk to him, thats a choice I have. The worst thing is that he confirms the fact that he falls under THAT category, which I don't even want to start discussing here. And that people who fall under that category behaves just the same. I Loathe.

Most of us understand that computers at the workplace are meant to be shared. But shared as in doing your things on the same computer, not snooping around and checking out what you peers had done at work. That's what makes him the nameless shameless. So damn kiasu. I'm just so pissed I decided not to talk to him again. Moronic.

On another note..

I get the thrill of speaking in military walkie talkie style.
Do you read me, over?
Roger that.
(Thamby and Venus =P)

Note:
Venus and Neptune are not friends. They are violent planets that destroys other planetary objects that came in their way. Including each other's ways. Thamby and Nept stays in KobengLand.

It never fail to amuse me in so many ways. Makes me smile to myself while sitting in front of the computer, and look silly. I'm glad.

Fahrenheit 9/11

This is one documentary you wouldn't want to miss. It's a shame that I only watch this last night after it was released 2 years ago (2004).

I'm surprised.

I'm not a big fan of Belukar Administration, and by watching the film, it fans the dislike I had for the Administration.

It's simply the most honest film ever made.

Fuel My Mind. NOW!

Primax3. Latest from Petronas.
Believe me, gives your car the Uuummph you need. Power. No not the Power Ranger/ Ultraman/ Superman kind of power, gives your car Power-laH.

But since its Malaysia's state owned oil and gas company, why is it so hard to find a Petronas station? Why is it that Shell and BP stations continued to dot the Klang Valley like nobody's business while Petronas stays as rare as Enzo Ferrari? Ok. I can't compare two different things. But seriously, its hard to find, Hello? Help?

Blind?

No, not me.Stars are Blind.
I thought it was Gwen Stefani's new single. Paris does sound like Gwen.
Then I thought, finally she's doing something that is against the definition of dumb blondes.
StarsAreBlind, surprisingly I kinda like that song!

On a different note ...

I've never watch a single episode of Paris and Nicole's The Simple Life. (*Whoops, I'm still talking about Paris, scratch different note)
No. I did not finally made up my mind to watch that, but it was by mere coincidence that I finally see what its like. I'm not a big fan, no offence.
But upon seeing that show on TV, I guessed its true that stars are blind. They have no idea what feels like for those who had to work hard the make ends meet. All they did there were to mess things up, bring chaos, fool around and have a good time. Welcome to the new-age Reality shows. See how much things have changed. From Gossip Mags to Television, to online Broadcasting. I blame Technology.

End note:
I'm a BIG fan of Gwen Stefani. Not PH. Couldn't be bothered about Reality TVs.

Fly Dive

*Blurred picture was due to Mr F ly's request to remain anonymous, at death bed. He later sunk. May he rest in one piece.

What better ways to ruin a nice cup of coffee? Mr Fly decided to take a dive into my Caramel Machiato, cos he figured that he needed a coat of caramel to make him a ladyfly killer.

Lovely.

Expensive Hobby

I've been playing too much lately that I don't realise how much my cash is flowing outwards. Haha.
So much for the love of the game.

Technology is zipping past at blinding speeds. Everyone embrace new techs like a new religion. Following trends, keeping themselves up to date with the latest gadgets, go all out to transform themselves into a new age techies. Ah, not to forget, among the gadget freaks, lies those who are against tech-nifying themselves, the rebellious lot.

Ideantifiable patterns in a Gadget Freak :
1. More likely to include gadget-discussion in conversations.
2. Can name (in full) all gadgets that their eyes caught sight of.
3. Able to give you a full list of brandnames when asked for recommendation.
4. Most likely to carry the latest in everything; cellphones, PDAs, mp3 players, Laptops, BLUETOOH receiver stuck to the ear all the time (except napping time) *pretty much a VERY mobile person...A person so equipped with gadgets, I think that the excuse battery flatout/out of coverage is not effective anymore - practically not useable, cos you make yourself Highly available through the different channel you provide yourself with..
5. MEN : are more interested in gadgets than other woman. (signs of being gadget-obsessed)
6. WOMEN : finds gadgets more interesting that a yummilicious man standing in front her. (you're losing out to gadgets, guys)

What are we turning the world into? A world where real life interaction can be reduced to a minimal? Just for the sake of saving time and the cost of moving around; promising an ever expanding wallet that comes with all the other necessary savings? (Not forget to mention, the ever expanding big fat ass that comes with the expanding wallet...)

Big ass men in big ass cars, but driving ever so slowly I thought he might be thinking that he's cruising down Long Beach, California, taking in the scene, in his big-arsed car, ignoring the rest of the working class people. Guess what, big arsed car is so big that it left no space for people to overtake him. Just Grrreeeaaatt...

Anyone knew what to do to cure memory overload? Human memory, I meant.
Love my work, and I'm not settling down with a boring job just yet. The excitement keeps me going. Gets me out of bed every morning. I'm officially married to work. Cheers.

Thai Experience

The Thais sure know how to make big money. Cabaret show after dinner.
Highly entertaining and amusing. Impressive collection of costumes. I wonder what a Cabaret Show in Malaysia would be like, if its ever going to happen anytime soon.

Watching that, while digging into flame grilled pork cutlets and sipping Hennessy can be quite fun. She stole the Limelight. Among so many other girls. And Oh, put my Parents in the picture, you reckon it must be quite a Show, eh? Certainly not to be missed. The Shes, btw, used to be Hes, more precisely, a Kathoey.

Malaysians should learn from Thais. Car-Pooling is THE way..

The World Needs a Change. Big Change

Everybody whines and complains about the everyday jam they have to go through, in the mornings and in evenings.

I was thinking that why not some genius come up with a more brilliant plan to fully utilize the 24 hours given to us? Certain sectors taking the daylight, while others work by night. Perhaps with that we'll manage to balance out the volume of traffic, ie spreading the load across 2 "sessions"?

Alright, that's never gonna happen. But at least let me think that I'm a smartie pants. Make my day.

If you wake up one morning, to find the streets completely deserted, it'll make you wonder if the the aliens invaded earth and kidnapped the rest of the people while you're deep in REM.
Anyway, it's something next to IMpossible.

On another note...

We don't realise the little annoying habits we have, until we discover it one day. Have you ever forgotten to wear your watch one day, and spend the rest of the day constantly looking at your wrist, only to be reminded that you forgot to wear it today? In my case, the ring on my forefinger, which I'll play with it most of the time, move it around the finger, using my middle finger and thumb. Time crawled yesterday. I blame my ring.

A Thing for Numbers

While I was driving to work this morning, I had a rather rude encounter with lady driver, Malaysian style. She conveniently swerved in from nowhere and nearly hit my car. @#$%%*& (yes..I did curse~)

It carries the registration number : 4777. And I thought 47 (read in chinese and you might get the idea? - Dead). I have a thing for numbers, no, not calculations, but my mind does a quick shuffle with the numbers, and came up with permutations of the set of number. So with so much time spent on the roads, I guess I'm all about numbers now~ (I am sensitive to certain numbers, and I can permutate that REALLY fast. Like ZAP~)

But this particular morning, after the 4777 encounter, I saw 5777. *raised eyebrows* Hmm. Coincidence. My mind had already wandered off, thinking perhaps I'll get to see more of the 777 series?

I was stuck in a rather unusual crawl today, along the Besraya Highway. Not that it bothers me at all; I was entertained by Hitz.Fm's Morning Crew Rudy and JJ. Ever noticed that the songs played by the DJs always sound better than those you have on CD - even though they're the same song? I've tried playing the tracks on the CD randomly (to confuse my mind and make it believe that its just like Hitz.Fm - without a DJ and commercial breaks), I'll still find my itchy hands reaching for the "Next" button, or I'll keep replaying the same song that I liked. Perhaps there's no Next button when a song is played on Air, and I HAD to listen to it or switch Stations. But the thing is, no matter how much I dislike a song, I'll still listen to it (with an exception : KTownClan..I cannot tahan..). To make it worse, my car stereo comes with a cute lil' remote control, which means that I don't even have to stretch out to reach the "Next" button. Technology..sheesh..

Out on the roads...

I saw 6777. At another turn, 3777 and 2777!!!
*raised both eyebrows*
OK..Did I just saw 2,3,4,5,6 & 777, on the same stretch of the road?
It must be cool to have 777 on ya car number plate~ B*tch~

Eggs?

I'm so done with people betraying my trust over and over again. To me it was a harmless friendship, which I thought was going in a positive direction, but I'm always the one getting disappointed big time in the end. When harmless friendship was used to feed another's fantasy, it becames negative in every way. Not that it mattered much to me where all these are heading, but I just hate it when people start to take my efforts for granted.

I guess that I've come a long way to get the where I am today. I'm just like everyone else, learning from each day and turn them into valuable experience that I might need in the later days.

I was left speechless. Not angry, but disappointed of how I was manipulated in a way that I never imagined. All those things that seemed harmless to me now makes sense to me, that I've finally see the whole picture of how things are, from another perspective. Devastated.

With this encounter, I guessed that I've learned enough to keep myself more private. It's just disappointing to see my sincerity flushed down the drain just like that. In fact I was a private person all along, but I learned to open up to people to gain their trust, by going all out.

I just one innocent person trying to make a living. Leave me alone. =P

Sheesh. Did I manage to make anyone shed a tear or two? Chill. Just one of the bad eggs in the basket.

When I got home yesterday, I saw a HUGE lizard on the wall. *gasps* First lizard encounter. *grins* That "whiteguy" must have loads to savour in that cosy place of ours. Watch out. Serving Sticky Meeky thingy soon.

From McD, Next to Somewhere

damn~ The previous location closed down. I know, I'm odd to be there at this hour. Haha. Screw Liberty.

From Starbucks, Somewhere

Time crawls. 2 more hours to go. I'm taking 2 days off, will be heading to Southern Thailand.

I'm leaving this mad dough chase. Opting for a place where people speak a different language I don't comprehend.

I'll have fun, don't worry.

When Dogs Howl...

It was past midnight and I was still wide awake. I was way past my usual bedtime. My room was dark, it was cold and the only sound reverberating around the 4 walls of my bedroom was the sound of the fan blades spinning rapidly.

Hooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwl...
(Followed by barkings of probably a pack of dogs..)
Howls & barks, howls and barks.
It went on for half and hour or so.

I lie on my bed and listen to them howl. I was expecting a dogfight to ensue, but it don't seem to happen. More howls and barks. Howling..could only mean one thing. According to people, dogs howl when they see things. I can feel the hair at the back of my neck standing..

I dozed off soon after.

This morning, I was listening to the radio as I drove to work. JJ and Rudy taking the airwaves as usual. When they mentioned about what a special day it is today, the first 666 of the century, the howlings suddenly made sense to me now.... Barks and Howls. =$

The Name of the Game

There's only one thing that can bring people from different background and places together, Sports. I'm still badminton-crazy, crazier than I used to be. The best thing is that, I've met people who have 10 times more enthusiasm than I do. Beat that. Investment bankers, lecturers, music teachers, those who work 9-5, brokers, students too.. People of different age groups, young adults and adults, those in mid 30s, mid 40s. We share the passion for the same game.

The fun of playing with a team who shares the same passion is beyond words could describe. I've always thought that it was all over ever since I gave up playing competitively. All over as in not getting anymore chances of playing due to the fact that I'm now here in a new place (5 years ago) whereas the rest of my badminton buddies were all scattered round the country. To start looking for people to play with is not easy, especially in college when most people I've met have never even play sports before. How disappointing.

My first outing with the team was a friendly match in Malacca. We travelled there in 2 cars, 9 people in total. The entire journey there was nothing but fun (besides getting stuck in a Massive jam all the way). Wacky ringtones (courtesy of Deane), when she start playing those with a tad too much vulgarities, all of us were laughing our stomachs out in no time.

I last went to Malacca 5 7 years ago. How much things changed. Looked different from what I remembered. A bunch of hungry monsters they are. Therefore, the first stop, the famous cendol store, which is located right opposite the Christ Church. Refreshing on a hot and sunny day. We proceed with the friendly game held at a badminton hall in Bukit China. 2-3 hours of serious badminton got everyone exhausted by the end of the session. We hit the showers, and we're out hunting for food. We stopped by the a shop which apparentlymakes the best "thong sui". Well, when people acknowledge a shop as the best, it makes everything taste nice, cos you've just been planted with a piece of intel that tells your brain, its good food you're eating (besides the fact that we're all Starving...) *grins* we cleaned out plates.

Immediately after that we walked around the corner, for satay (so can you imagine how much these people are capable of eating?) First round : 25 chicken, 25 beef. -_-''
Finished in less than 15 minutes. Second round : 20 chicken, 20 beef.
-_- 2 of the girls, only ate part of it. As in, eating only the top part, and not the fatty bottom. So they passed it to the other girl. Meaning to say, if they ate 10 each, the third girl ate 20. -_- and I bet her stomach is made of rubber. hehe.

Jonker Street was next. It was almost the same concept as Petaling Street back in KL, but somehow it felt different. Alot of cafes, Live music, alot of foreigners, and I absolutely loved Cafe Geographer. There's one thing about Jonker Street (or Malacca), Pineapple. Everywhere there are people selling pineapple tarts (and anything made from pineapple : cookies, juices and all other byproducts made from Pineapple..).
Narrow one way streets, LONG shophouses, satay, riceballs. I fell in love already.

I think my craziness can get me anywhere just to play the game I loved.

Unaffected by Urbanisation

I woke up to a bright sunny morning, it's rays piercing through the light drapery on my curtain rails. I've been sleeping for the last 10 hours. More than sufficient amount of shut-eye. Gentle wind from the outside seemed inviting, blowing ever so softly, stirring up the air around me. Softly stirring.
I saw myself standing by the balcony, taking in the scene, Ocean, as far as the eye can see, and the horizon, which creates an illusion of a fine horizontal line dividing the sky and the ocean. Geometrical perfection.

I'm at a beach front house, overlooking the Pacific. The sun, the white sandy beaches, the ocean, clear blue sky.I went out soonafter, wearing a white-Tee and boardshorts, with my shades on. Mode of transportation, a dune buggy. It's a rather common sight to see people moving around the small beachfront town in buggies, bikes, rollerskating and skateboarding on the streets, fairways and alleys. Young skaters challenged each other to pulling off kickflips, grinds and sick tricks, making the small town their ultimate skatepark.

On the beach, seas of sun worshippers found paradise. Armed with tan-lotion, shades and hats, they brave the scorching hot sun.

Off the beach, surfers looked like buoys drfting out in sea, trying to catch a wave or two. Most of the time, waves are gentle, far from the kind that pro surfers would be dying to catch, the perfect pipe. Most of the surfers out there were beginners, just trying to get a feel of what its like surfing, and trying to grab useful tips on balancing oneself on the surfboard, and surf.

I thought to myself, this must second to Paradise, if places were to be ranked in ascending order of Serenity.

Unaffected by urbanisation, highrise buildings are still at a minimal. People here are in touch with their surroundings, nature. A expansive animal kingdom, where animals roam freely in their natural habitat, which was also part of a reserved dense forestry. In this particular Zoo,
visitors do not walk around from an enclosure to another to see the animals. They travel in buggies. Dune buggies. I am the Zoo Keeper. Most of the visitors were adults, while the kids can enjoy other tour arrangements. Locals can either come with their own buggies, or rent one for a minimal price. While you might be thinking that dune buggies are meant to be used on sand dunes and beaches, it can do so much more.

The use of buggies is to create a feel of getting off the beaten track, going off road. The main focus is not only on how well you could manoeuvre that machine (and make it behave just as you wish; duH its a machine, there's no such thing as bad machines, only bad drivers) but to
experience pure nature and the animal kingdom. Special platforms and tracks were made to ensure that the weight of the buggies crossing (plus the drivers perched on top...) were evenly spread out, thus minimizing the damage done to the forest floors.

Animal spotting is not something visitors were guaranteed of. Most of the time, with a little bit of luck, they'll get to spot 3-4. Predators dont especially roam in broad daylight. But most of the visitors didnt mind, cos they were having even more fun riding the buggies than the actual
purpose itself. However there are daredevils who chose to ride in the cover of the dark night, which is also one of the options they get to choose from while deciding which tour package to take. Risky as it is, its obviously the most rewarding.

Every morning, my day starts with a ride along the tracks, carrying out routine checks ensuring that its safe. Being familiar with almost every inch of the forest, I could easily find my way around, although to most people, the place looked the same in all directions. It's like a fun ride through the dense forest every morning, which of course I enjoyed doing, with a co-partner, but there are other important stuff that we had to keep in mind, safety. We race each other to get to checkpoints and lookout points, and carry out checks on foot before returning to our buggies and proceed to the next checkpoint.

I woke up soonafter. It was a dream. I pretty much recall every detail.

A rather abrupt ending. *grins* Use your imagination.

Wednesday, May 31, 2006

This morning ...
I found...
A 5 inch long scratch on my front bumper, far right..
A dent next to the right headlight..
A gaping hole as a result of a dispositioned headlight..
A protuding headlight cover that will surely give me the advantage as if in a 100m sprint; two sprinters approaching the finishing line in what looked like a tight run, but in the end the one with a neck wins, cos he crossed the finishing line head first..

-_-'''

What You Call Travelling...

Not many of us have the privilege to travelling in and out of the country. For most people, it remains a dream until a time comes when your chance came.

Of course, there are plenty of travel agencies out there that offers attractive travel packages, which are affordable and covers most of the major attractions and must-see sites and landmarks of the each country.
No doubt that many would think that it is the best possible way to travel, in the most affordable way. To some, it is even better if the package offers visits to multiple neighbouring countries in the shortest time possible, at a minimal price.

Most of the pictures people snap are those of landmarks or famous sites, with them IN the picture of course, so that they can show the world that they have actually been to that place, with those pictures as proof. Hard
copy, if necessary.

How many of those people who brag and boast about their foreign experience actually learnt about the country itself? The different culture, the country's historical past, meaning of landmarks? I've heard of people who travelled around Europe in just 2 weeks, traversing and crossing borders of all the neighbouring countries, seeing all the things they should have seen while they were there, visiting all the sites and landmarks, snapped uncountable amount of pictures and so on...

When asked about what its really like being in that foreign land, common replies are mostly about the difference in the climate, oohs and ahhs about famous landmarks. Places they've been. Of which I'm pretty sure that all of us have read about, seen or heard in the wake of the internet, satellite tv and the easy access to information on other channels of the media. How many of them would be telling you about the difference in culture, how are they different from us and even the local delicacies. Must try food instead of must-be-seen-taking-picture with landmarks? Common. In fact I believe that everyone knows about famous
landmarks, so why share more of the same thing? Moreover, its just a pictures, like all others, and the only difference is that you're in it.

Of course all of these are just pieces of my mind. Before anyone wants to start throwing rotten eggs at me, perhaps you should ask yourself whether you really did learn anything more other than taking pictures with famous landmarks and crossing out more places on your list of Must-Go Countries?

I have to say that most tours that most agencies (read : all) out there only offer sightseeing tours of countries, I used the word sighseeing, because you are simply brought around, seeing places, perhaps learn about the famous place from what the tour guide has to offer. What if you get a rotten tourguide who only knew as much as a typical travel guidebook could offer?

Perhaps the best way to really learn about a country is to stay for a period of time. I've always admired those who had the luxury of studying abroad, who indirectly earned their chance of learning about an entirely
different culture, pick up a new language or two, learn about the place firsthand from the locals, and living like one of them. To even be learning about the street names and map the entire place in your mind
would be interesting. I'm not at all suggesting that we shun our home country for another, but I see travelling as an opportunity to learn more about other people, instead of just ourselves. Travelling can be eye
opener to alot of other things. Something that you cannot acquire and learn through books. You've got to be there to see and feel it for yourself.

As for me, I would not choose to travel to China, because I cant read. One of important things that helps you in finding your way and make a mental map of the place are the road signages. Not being able to read makes you feel like you're travelling blindfolded. Sis and Dad didnt get what I was trying to say when I told them that. They argued that I can always join tours offered by major travel agencies, cos most of the tourguides speak English. It's not like I cant understand Mandarin, just that I cant read. Not being able to understand wasn't the problem. Reading was. Not being able to tell exactly where you are on the map is next to travelling blindfolded.

It's frustrating at times when you constantly need people to translate the strokes of characters that doesn't make sense to you. Makes you feel handicapped. Plus, not everyone would actually take the time or have the
patience (or inequipped with enough knowledge to make the translation)(to translate the alien strokes to you you word for word, line by line. What I often get when asking people to read text messages written in complicated strokes of lines and curves, "AIyah..it's nothing one. Just a forwarded message." -_-''' I thought it would be better if they could just read them out to me, whether I understand it or not, rather than just tell me its nothing important (Hence the conclusion that not many people had the patience and expertise to do the translation). What amuses (and frustrates) me more is that, each time you try to ask someone to translate something, they are often at a loss of words. Which sometimes confuses me; its eitherthat person has such a vast vocab that he had difficulties finding the right replacement/ translation for a word, or he had limited vocab. Luckily I could still speak the language rather fluently, which makes up for the inability to read nor write.

Ignore if you are offended. High5, if you hear me out.

Mind of a Parking Ticket

You drive your car through the gates after you collect the parking ticket. Hunt around for a parking bay. "Stalking" shoppers spotted leaving the mall area to the parking lot. With a little stroke of good luck, you get a space before you even need to start stalking shoppers. Or spend minutes that tick away ever so quickly, while cursing under your breath on the car ahead of you who supposedly robbed you of the space that you've spotted from afar, which was rightfully yours (self claimed).

Then a lucky star came along, in the form of a shopper leaving the mall area, and walking towards that somewhere he parked his car at (Pardon the pronoun chosen (Him), just replace Him with Her if you were irritated by the fact that the Male are often regarded as the dominant gender.Whatever). So what we do when we see ourselves in such a situation is that, we car-stalk the shopper. Literal translation : we trail that guy and hope that he's leaving the place, not just walking towards his car and empty his shopping cart so that he can go back inside and buy more. (Malaysian style...) If he were to do the latter, he'd probably put a smirk on his face and waved at ya, handsignalling you that he ain't leaving just yet. (Perhaps at that point, you might wanna let loose some *beep* phrases...only to thank him for being such a nice considerate fella for letting you know before hand that he ain't leaving)

What are the odds that you lose your parking ticket even before you get into the mall? (read : drop it somewhere/simply lose it without you realising that it's gone..magically slipped through your fingers)

23 years of living, twice in my entire life, I misplaced (read : accidentally dropped) the parking ticket the moment I get out of the car. How can the same thing happened twice, both times when I was out with the same person (yes, you, the brokepocket halftermite), lost it in an almost a similar manner, both times at the parking lot?

It's almost hard to believe when I realised that I didnt have the ticket with me. Being a person of habits, it was almost a natural hand movement : to always put the ticket on the rubber mat thingy right in front of me, and to take it and slip it into my wallet first thing before I get out of the car, without fail.

I was spooked. SPOOKED. I was Completely Speechless. Words cant describe what I felt at that very moment I realise its happening again. It felt like it was a repeat of the first ever incident. Just that it was at a different location this time around, but it was the exact same story. I felt like banging my head against the wall. That is just silly. Sheer stupidity. Muahhaa..All I can do was to laugh it off, and thamby insisted that I should really blog about this..*slaps forehead*

Great day out. I discovered :
That all things black are considered Yuckie. Not edible.

The first CoffeeBean in KL that uses BM as the medium of speech. Rare sight and sound? There's always a start for everything. Perhaps this particular Franchisee believes in reaching out to customers, through the national language. Kudos. Two weeks old chocolate mud pie? Felt like tasting a piece of history. Yummy.

That we are supposed to look good enough for a timepiece to look good on ya wrist. Not the other way around. What I really meant was that, there are no such thing as an "ugly piece of work". To say that a particular TimePiece is not "cun" looking was as good as "you're not good enough for me, not the other way round".

*Enlightening..

Parking Incident

I want it too, because you have it.
I wanna eat this too, cos you're having it.
I wanna come along, because you're going.
I wanna park right next to you, cos you parked your car here!

WTF?!

I admit it was my fault cos I parked my car near a turn that was meant to be used to exit the parking lot. But I parked my car so nicely that a HUGE truck will have no problems passing by through without scratching/denting/crashing my car or others. Problem with the parking lot was that they didnt have lines that clearly define the parking bays. So we usually refer to the car next/in between a space and decide whether or not the car fits into the place.

Given my everyday experience with PS parking problems, I seize every opportunity (read : every inch of space) that my eye catches.

That donkey who insisted that He (I'm pretty sure that donkey's a He!) can park his car right next to mine is such a Moron. I'm already a half moron for parking my car there, and he wants to do the same thing and declare to the world that he's a complete Moron. If he were to park his car there, he will definitely be blocking the exit. What common sense does he need to make himself realise that?! Ugh.

Monkey see Monkey Doooo.

DVC Fever

Almost everyone got hit by the DVC fever. People flocking the bookstores, in frantic search for the bestseller, attempting to read (more like scanning through as fast as they could) the book before catching the most awaited movie of the year. Everywhere there were people holding copies of it, its a sold out. Even 2-3 days in advance. Thats how crazy people are about this movie.

Even those who normally wouldn't be caught dead reading a book join in the fray of last minute browsers/readers. 3 years back when the book was first published, most of the people out there weren't even bothered to read (except for fiction freaks and book lovers). Its the "in" thing; everyone is talking about it.

With increasing books-to-movies, comics-to-movies adaptions, at the rate it is going right now, we could only expect more to come in the near future. While animations seemed to have lost its appeal, book adaptions are taking over the silverscreen by storm.

With all the controversies surrounding the movie as well as the book, I reckon Dan Brown would be sitting back and enjoy the storm of controversies his bestseller managed to stir up.

Why is everyone making such a huge fuss over a novel? It only happened to be a brilliant novel written by genius writer. A piece so well written that it confuses the readers, get them lost in inside a story filled with clever blends of fact and fiction. What happens after one finishes the book is something very individual. Whether or not one let fiction becomes a fact does not matter to other people. This is something very individual. we cannot control what people can read or can't read, we cannot control what people can see or can't see.

If we were to say that faith towards a certain religion might change after reading the book, it doesn't work this way as faith always prevail over other elements that attempts to alter it. If it was that easy to shake a Faith that someone held, perhaps the question now is on the person's faith and beliefs, not on the book?

It's practically all over the news. The Church, Opus Dei, Albinos, Historians, fellow bookwriters, Plagarism and the list goes on.
By the way, reading all these stories are more interesting that reading about Bush and his plans. =P

Its a good book. There's no doubt about it. I guess people just have to kick back and relax a little. Life's is so much more fun than fighting over a novel.

When Cool Turns Cold

My unofficial claim that Low temperature prevents the body from functioning properly still stands (unofficially stood).
You do not need to get hypothermia to have malfunctioned brain and frozen limbs.
While hypothermia might lead to death, the accidental case of brain freezing is far from what defines hypothermia.
As opposed to natural coldness caused by seasonal changes (i.e Winter), accidental brain freezing is mainly caused by prolonged confinement in artificially cold air. (read : air-conditioning).

Cakes. Overly high temperature, you'll risk getting a burnt end product, inedible. Set it way too low, it might not rise nicely. Either way, you flunk baking.

Enzymes and other living organisms?
Just like many other living things on Earth, we; without exception, function the best at optimal temperature.

I'm freezing, uncomfortably cold...
While the hot sun leaves its scorching power on everything that catches its rays, it feels weird to be in this artificially cold office space. Not cool, its Cold.

Leone Bandito

Leone Bandito.
I drew this. I was holding Sis' marker, scribbling words of encouragement (Sis was going through a hard time with studies and exams) and scrawling things everywhere.
Then I lie on the floor as we were talking to each other, right next to a box where she kept her notes. Start to draw things on it, didnt anger her but laughed at my drawing skills. Kekek. Had a good laugh over it.
Draw something of your own. Amuse yourself.

Fly.Fm Troopers. Manage to grab a car sticker from them.

Seeing that smiley face simply makes my day. Damn, I'm so easy to please.

Half Pipe @ Surf Beach. Pro Skaters in action.

Ouch. I got another jab, left upper arm. *ouch*

Chance....or Choice?

Chance.... Or Choice?

When we meet the right person to love when we're at the right place at the right time. That's chance. When you meet someone you you're attracted to, that's not a choice. That's chance. Being caught up in a moment (and there's lot of couples who get together because of this) is not a choice. That's also a chance.
The difference is what happens afterwards. When will you take that infatuation, that crush, that mind-blowing attraction to the next level? That's when all sanity goes back, you sit down and contemplate whether you want to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling.

If you decide to love a person, even with her faults, that's not a chance. That's choice. When you choose to be with a person, no matter what, that's choice. Even if you know there are many people out there who are more attractive, smarter, and richer than your mate, and yet, you decide to love your mate just the same, that's choice.

We may meet our soulmates by chance, but loving and staying with our soulmate is still a choice we have to make. Infatuation, crushes, attraction comes to us by chance. But true love that lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make.

Akashi Kaikyo

Largest suspension bridge in the world, located in Kobe, Japan. (and also the most expensive)
I was watching a TV program on building this magnificient bridge.
The Japanese, are very much perfectionists.
Precise and accurate in every single inch of the structure.
They were the ones who came up with concrete that hardens in water, instead of dissolving like Panadol in water.
They also made the world's strongest cables, only made and produced in factories in Japan.
I'm amazed. I'm truly amazed.

*even sis who doesnt watch programs like this was amazed..haha

Uproarious Merriment

what was the craziest thing you ever did before?
Throwing away my first birthday present.
Thats silly.

I am amazed by how fast facial muscles could work to change an from an expression to another, in a blink of an eye. Both eyes.
Hopeless.
Ugh.

MobileConfessional. (as opposed to Dashbboard Confessionals)
MobileRanting?
Watever the name is.
I love the MobileConfessional. The name. I'm talking about the name.
Love how it works too.
OnlineConfessional?
Love this too. Power of words.
EmailConfessional?
Love this too. Words rules!

Perhaps people can come up with the term : MobileBitching?
Whether its about yourself or about others, its categorized under bitching.

Bitch about our lives.
Bitch about other's lives.
Bitch about every other person seen/never seen/heard of/never heard of.
Bitch about those who are living better lives.
Bitch about how much different the Numbers are on your payslips.

At the end of the day, you still go to sleep, get tucked in bed and have a sweetdream (or a nightmare).
Wake up the next day, you start your day the same way you did the day before, and bitch like you did the day before.
Worst part is that, you're still stuck where you were before, despite all those bitching.

Conclusion, bitching DOESNT work.

*pardon me

Saturday Through My Eyes

This morning...

Mr D: So whats wrong with you?
Me: Huh? I wanna do a blood test..
Mr D: Oh? Why so? Why do you need a bloodtest?
Me: Cos I thought that I should get one after 23 years of living; eating food besides homecooked food which is probably not so "clean" but downed them all anyway. After so many years, I guess its time to find out about my health status..
Mr D: Rite..
(Mr D mumbles to his assistant )
*takes out a medical glove, tied it around my arm
*tap tap Tap TApTAP TAP TAP ..
Mr D: AIks..right arm .. cannot (mumbles..what happen to your veins..)
*ties glove on left arm..TAP TAP TAP
Mr D: Ahh..ini boleh..
Mr D: You always do things with your left arm?
Me: I'm a righthander..
Mr D: But the veins in your left arm are more visible.
Me : +.+''' (thinking that I play badminton with my right hand??)
*takes a sterilized syringe... and tries to draw blood from my left arm as I looked
*after a while..blood ... came in drops.. =.+''' DROPS! damn..
Mr D: Rather small vein.. not good..
*removes syringe..
Mr D: Can we draw blood from here? (points at my the back of my palm)
Me: Yeah..sure
*takes out a smaller version of a syringe comprising only the needle, covered in a plactic case Thing(which I forgot the name, although I did ask what that Thing is) and another syringe
Mr D: So you watch this here, I'm gona put this in and take the needle out
Me: Ok..
Mr D: OK.. GOOd. Ball your fists and release slowly. Clench and release. Clench and release.
Me: Rite..
*now I see blood..oozing out..*grins* I'm such a sicko..
Mr D: Alright, we're done..
Me: When can I get the results?
Mr D: You can come back on Thursday.
Me: Alright.
Mr D: I'll need your urine.
Me: Grins. Yeah. Of course you do.
Mr D: You can pass it to my Girl at the dispensary.
*I gave a puzzled look
Mr D: My assistant. Hehe
Me: Grins. ( +.+''') *his girl? kekkeke..

He's a funny guy..

This morning...
I send my car to the workshop.

This morning..
I had my coffee fix..ahh...syok.

This morning...
In an enclosed space 25 floors up in the sky, I was shot in the face. Verbally.
But despite using the word Shot, I didn't feel anything. I'm too calm a person to be bothered about petty things like that. *grins*

Good day, People. Its a bright sunny day. Too bad Malaysia lost in the semi finals yesterday. And its too bad that I missed it, spending time in the office investigating problems faced. But I get a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from what I do. It feels good.

When Fear is a Factor

Most of the time we tend to avoid things that we fear most. Learnt to avoid things we didn't like.
What if for once, you chose to face it? To deal with it, just so that you can get a better understanding as to why it remained a factor to be feared after so long.

What you see on FearFactor, which deals mostly with physical fears, creepy crawlies (including eating them) and downing disgusting "food"(which I must agree that it challenges the Mind and mental strength as well), feels somewhat different from your very own fear Factors.

We learn by dealing with it. Not to hide and run away from it.

Two Sides of Every Story

Every said and done has consequences that comes as a result of it.
Jealousy comes as the effects of Love.
Then comes Rage, Hatred and Anger.
Somethings that brings benefits to others, tend to bring hardships to others.

Alor Setar is well known for its traffic jams. No, not because of the traffic volume; it was solely caused by traffic lights. The Gov/MPKS (or whoever is responsible) took steps necessary to make most of the streets a Oneway. While motorists benefited from this move taken by whoever-is-responsible; for others, they see their business go down the now oneway street, and never come back. Sealing off part of the streets, simply means business is Less likely to come easy.

Talk about bad locations for shoplots. Inaccessible? Hardly accessible means people are less likely to drop by, cos its hard to make a "drop-by". Haha. So be extra cautious when you are looking for places, make sure its Easy for people to dropby! Perhaps they even bought that shoplot for a cheaper price, because its inaccessible, as compared to those nearer to the entry point. Hmm...

Heard about all these from Mum and Grandma. I just listen and thought..hmm..true enough +.+
Just one of the things that we sometimes overlooked. You might want to tell me that "Its not really my problem" but then again, its a simple example which proves that there are two sides of every story. Positive and negative.

I was heading to town on Sunday (in AlorSetar), it was drizzling. From where I was, I could see the Telecom Tower, the tallest structure in AS. I was looking at it, as I drive, and all of a sudden, lightning struck the tip of the tower. I've seen pictures of lightning striking tall buildings, only pictures, but for the first time, I saw it with my very own eyes. I was awe-struck. Unlike most of the lightning bolts I've seen, mostly from afar, this one was just 200m away. Blindingly bright and Fat bolt.

The next time that came into thought was about those people who were struck dead by lightnings. Burnt, charred, blackened remains of a human body. Seeing that Huge Fat bolt striking the tower, its hard to imagine anyone could survive such a hit. Hmm.

Nightingale

VRrrrrrOOOmmm..
Vrom vrom vrom vrom vrom vrom vrrrrooooooooommmmmm!

Sound of power. Men and machinery. Circuit racing, men and their machinery, were the main reason people watch. That's the reason it is hailed as the World's Hottest Race. Speed and Sound.

Thats top notch racing.

Other than that, the rest are called Trunk Road racers competing in trunk road races. (as defined by me). Whichever road with the slightest sight of being straight in a trunkroadracer's definition, is a race track. Just like NFS, more obstacles makes it a more difficult race, therefore, racers clearly has to be equipped with a quick wit and a daring soul, along with adequate skills to maneuver their little machinery. Under the cover of darkness (besides being lit up by lampposts that lined the roads), thats where the show begins.

Well..its not like people flock around to see them in action. Not most of the time. The reason that people don't actually watch these "races" would be because of the choice or racetime, which would be probably waaaaaaay past midnight.. (plus its not that..legal..you know what I mean)

Well..despite the fact that I; who doesnt have any interest at all to see all these night time races, still have to suffer from it. Vrooming at midnight would be the last thing you wanna hear when you were trying to get some sleep?! Hello! Its the middle of the night when its just right that people go to bed!

Vroooooom Vrm vrom vrooom vrooooom vrom vroooooooom..

I wont be surprised if all those vrooming ended with a loud sound of metal crashing against the ground. A loud thud? a loud explosion, end up in a fiery inferno? I think I would be smiling as I held my fluffy pillow close to me and have a sweet dream. (gosh im so evil).

I see that Malaysians are at their best at utilizing everything that's given to them.
