East West? Nine West??

Shopping malls are most Malaysians favourite hang out place. Malls these days are sprawling, an outward extension of a small piece of land, and has almost everything under one roof. So when you have everything under one roof, you've gotta provide good signage, just so people don't get lost in the concrete jungle. Or spend time looking for the store instead of spending their good money at your mall, right?

One mind boggling thing is, why in the world would they still name their crack and crevices East, West, North and South? As if we can tell east west north and south, INDOORS!

*checks portable compass

You see, when we can't tell East, West, North and South indoors, we tell directions by recognizing the stores lining each side. That's a workaround solution. But how many people that you know, actually know the location of each and every store? Most of the people I know would say, meet at Centre Court. Even then, people can't find each other because of their centrepiece. You get my drift.

"Where you at?"
"Im standing in front of GAP."
"Geb? Oh okay! Meet you in a second. I'm on my way up!"
"Up? Where? I'm at GAP!"
"Yeah I know. Geb rite? Just wait. I'll meet you there!"

Okay. I just made that up. But it's a possible confusing situation, you see? People are often reluctant to admit that they have bad sense of direction, leave alone admitting they have a short short-term memory span. Or simply, bad memory. You get my point.

GPS anybody? Or the ole trusty compass? Let's hope their East West North South is really what it is.

Pete-a-pan

Politics has never been so interesting. The more diverse it gets, the crazier the story gets. It's like fighting over the who gets more candy and icing on the cake.

Until someone can forget to put their dog in the car. Adoi.

I wasn't aware of Peterpan's new album until Dewa told me about it. He was Peterpan's biggest fan. It's nice to hear that the locals support their own bad, cos they make Good music. I shall try to love our local bands too. Please bring me for gigs. More so if Peterpan or other Indo bands are coming okay? Me love live bands too. So please.

Peterpan

I bought their new album after I came back from Bali. Speaking of Bali, yes, I haven't finish blogging about it. Soon, I promise. After I get the rest of the pictures from my home PC.

What do you think of a person who is ignorant about the ongoings in the country? I always believed that knowing a little something about everything is never a bad thing. I've stood by that, and I embrace that entirely. The Internet is a vast knowledge vault. It's almost boundless. Need I say more?

I've been asked questions that put me in an awkward situation. Of course, my reply wasn't a natural response as I would to a close friend, but rather a calculated response required of someone walking on the edge. It happens so often nowadays that I needn't think it through to come up with it. I can blurt it out with ease. I am still very selective of people I share my life with. Too often I had my trust compromised, can someone tell me why these scheming people are even worth my attention and care? Want to thank my yhsif buddies, I treasure you most.

Life only gets harder when you have choices. Options. You weigh the pros and cons. What is right and wrong. What is needed and what is not. But what if both choices are seemingly just as good, you're forced to make that choice. But how? Gut feeling? Instinct? What feels right at that moment? But when a choice had been made, how often do we have second thoughts on something that had been decided on? And why is it that most of the time, the other option seemed to so much more attractive than the one we've made after we've made that choice?

James Blunt's Same Mistake is a beautiful song.

Helo?

What comes to mind when you see a confused dog wandering on the streets in an area full of apartments and condominiums?

A lost dog.

Not just some chao kao running around okay? I wouldn't be surprised if I see a non-breed lying by the roadside. It was a Shihtzu. Did someone lose their dog?

For someone living in an apartment to lose their dog shows how irresponsible the owners are. It's not like your dog get to run around in the front porch and was "dognapped". There's no front porch to poo on.

I thought of a couple of potential ways to lose a dog (while living in an apartment):
1) You spent all your money on your breed dog and had none left to buy a leash?
2) He survived a 20 storey high fall.
3) You had your hands full carrying your stuff to your car while your dog tags along. You ordered him to stay and wait. You put all your stuff into your car trunk, hop into the driver seat, and drove off, leaving him behind.

Go figure. It's like forgetting your daughter.

Ordinary People has decided

Good morning. What does it feels like to wake up to the dawn of a new government? Did the voters did the right thing by putting in more voices in the Parliament? Or was it a brilliant scheme to get voters to deny Dacing a landslide victory, and in the end they were the ones reapoing rewards?

My home state has fallen to PAS. What does the future holds?

Brwahhhh! Did I scare you? Look into my eyes and you shall fall into a trance.
[Bali post to be continued. Soon]

Election Spell

The election fever is now at its peak. Everywhere you can see banners and posters. Also pondok-pondok for their campaigns. Didn't see them act so fast when the flood hits certain parts of the nation. Nabe. I'm not going to discuss about that today.

When I was a 11, I knew nothing about what elections are for. Why bother voting over who should have the power to lead the country when the successor will still be from the same party? I don't recall getting much explanation from mum and dad, nor did they answer to all my curious questions, politics in particular.

Among my questions;
Why choose a Dacing as a symbol? Dacing has to be very balanced, or else Senget lar!

What has UMNO got to do with Barisan National?

Rocket! Looks like NASA flag. COOL!

More flags/posters/banners = more votes?
How do you know who to vote for when you only see these people coming out to campaign when the elections are near? At other times, what were they doing?
How this, why that, how come???

I have an odd liking for flags. I like to see flags; how they flutter and flap in the wind. On police bikes, the Royals convoy, Sports Day. So when I see those posters hanging freely everywhere, my genius mind hatched a brilliant idea. Make flags out of the posters. God knows what flag I made. Maybe with a candidate's face? Eww. Can't believe I actually did that. And yes, I did get a good scolding from mum for ripping out the posters and bring it home. They scare me with their bomoh and evil spells stories and that I will be put into a trance and they can make me do evil things and obey them. That scare the crap out of me. Me and my 'flags'. My mum's fantastic story.

I'm lucky not to get my mouth taped from asking all those questions. I know how annoying it must have been. I guess they had better ways to entertain me, by Ignoring certain questions. Based on need-to-know basis. I figured that if they were to explain the works of it, I guess a 10 minute thing will end up taking the whole day. I only question things that I have interest in knowing. Most of the time, I do more observation than questioning.

Anyway, by my own intense efforts at reading the news online during my goyang kaki days at le Bank, I picked up useful bits of information. I frequent websites that publish untainted information.

I'm lucky to be in the Internet age.

My Excursion

I was away to Bali last week. I enjoyed it very much, especially the company of my sister. =D

So I did finally jet off somewhere.

Until this trip, I realised that I hadn't been out of the country, for 3 long years, for a real vacation. (Hatyai, Thailand semua tak kira larh~)

But not before I get through the airport security and stuff. It was my first time dealing with the 100ml restriction and I was amazed with the amount of effort they put to enforce that. It's pretty funny though, it seems to me that they were too focused on checking/taking/dumping out water bottles rather than watching out for other gadgets that were more potential hazardous devices. iPod as a trigger that can detonate a bomb planted in a backpack? That'll be scary. Hehe. Sorry. My mind went a tad too far. But think of the possibility, ya know?

Luckily, there were no delays. It was drizzling when we were on the bus from KL Sentral to LCCT. Air Asia did a great job in cutting down delays, but you never mess with Mother Nature, no? Nothing is predictable =). Soon before we know it, we boarded Flight AK900.

Being on the 3 hours flight to Bali was somewhat boring in a way it's fun. It was an Airbus 320. No entertainment consoles built in to the back of the seats. I didn't bring my pods either. Camera was in the baggage compartment. I'm so lazy to move my ass to grab it and snap some pictures for you. Of le food.

I am sure that most of us have discuss about the price of food on AA flight in one way or another. Bloody expensive, yeah? Everybody knows it. But when you were deprived of water for quite some time, and it was lunch time, it got me a little disoriented. I think most people on the flight had second thoughts of buying food, but sis and I nonchalantly ordered nasi briyani and nasi lemak and a bottle of Spritzer. RM20. Smack. But when we started digging out happily on food on our table (I guess the smell is out haha), and I see passengers around me start to buzz the stewards and place their order. Guess everyone's missing nasi lemak already. Surprisingly, it was Good. Or was I hungry. I don't know, but it is GOOD. So pig out, sleep, poke fun, sleep again.

.
..
...

Until, touch down!

[pictures of the airport soon]

The airport was one of a kind. They have Balinese structures everywhere, and little statues everywhere, either carved out of wood or volcanic stone. Very interesting, though sis find it a lil disturbing.

When we collected our luggage and exit the terminal, there's a whole bunch of people with placards with names on it waiting. I said, "Walaw..I wonder if my name was there. HAHAHA" It was so packed with Names, that I didn't even bother to look. I was thinking there shouldn't be any, cos I didn't arrange with anybody to pick us up from the airport. We hop on to the airport taxi and it cost us IDR40.000 (RM14).

Vira Bali Hotel was a nice as it was on pictures. I was awed. We were warmly welcomed and while waiting for them to prepare the room key, we were given a complimentary mango juice.

Reception Counter

Lobby - Waiting Area

I chose a hotel in Tuban, south of Kuta, for less hectic and less noise. It was within walkable distance to Kuta, so why not? I loved the pictures of the hotel during booking process. So why not? It was as good as it seems. I have no complaints except for the breakfast spread.

I grabbed a few brochures available at the information counter at the airport. Before the trip, I have done some research online, and made some arrangements to tour Bali. Of course, you can also do it when you get there, cos with the help of all the brochures and a few calls, you can get yourself a good deal. But I decided to do it before hand. I found this site on Google, BaliExplore.com. The founder of this website, Dewa Parwita, was the driver and guide. According to him, he started this and it soon became a family business. His workers were his family members or were related to him in one way or another. "Hard to find people you can trust." I agree with him on that.

Check out his website @ http://Baliexplore.com
Read his guest reviews and you will get what I mean.

Our first half day was spent on Uluwatu Sunset Tour. Before going down to the lobby to wait for Dewa, we were treated to a complimentary massage. Talk about Balinese hospitality. They know how to pamper you. =P After the massage, we went down to the cosy lobby and waited for Dewa. 10 minutes later, he called and said he can't make it for that tour cos he was far from Tuban and caught in a massive jam after the downpour, but he will send his cousin, Nyoman. We're fine with that cos we're on a happy holiday mood. And boy, those people that I had encountered here in Bali, were very polite. You can feel the sincerity when they apologize to you. It corrects things by apologizing. (works for Bali people only, Malaysians please ignore =P)

Along the way to Uluwatu which is south of Bali, there were alot of breathtaking sights. Just sit back and relax. There's only one government owned university, and as opposed to ours, their government university is far more expensive than private ones. Campus buildings are built Balinese style, and I wonder what the lecture hall looks like from within? Ask Nyoman anything and he could answer all my curious questions. Why are temple gates split into half? Why do people put marigold flower (marigold is a plant with orange flowers) in a paperbox at entrances? What is puri and how is it different from pura? And everything else. Hey, I'm one curious soul.
One-of-a-kind petrol stations. [pictures soon]

When we get to Uluwatu, the sky was getting dark. No sun, yes, you get that right. Ours was no sunset tour, it was Uluwatu Sunsetless Tour. Everyone must be modestly dressed to enter a temple, and also tie a sash around the waist. Those with exposed legs must wear a sarong.

But standing there with such a magnificent view upon me, that place reminded me very much of The 12 Apostles. The cliffs, the limestone stacks, erosion magic. Sound of the crashing waves, the wind, and well, fat monkeys. Believe me, I saw Michelin-like monkeys sitting around. No joke. Nyoman warned us earlier before entering that the monkeys here were a bit aggressive and asked us to take off our beads and watches, they snatch everything that is loose.

Take this in!

While standing at the cliff, taking in the view, all of a sudden, a girl screamed so loud my hair nearly fell off the cliff. One of the monkeys snatched her spectacles right from her face and took off, down the cliff.

Come out come out wherever you are...

Later a monkey snatched a girl's fluffy hair band, and chew on it. -.-" So don't say I didn't warn ya.

After spending quite some time trailing the walkways by the cliff, at the same time taking in the view of the Indian Ocean, and the sound of the crashing waves, we head off to watch the Kecak Fire Dance. It was one of the many trance-inducing exorcism dance. Characters in the Ramayana epic were fully decked out in their best costumes and headdresses along with errie looking masks. I loved Hanuman the white monkey. I liked his antics. Perhaps the most dramatic moment was when Hanuman was caught, bound and placed in a ring of burning straw drenched with kerosene, where he eventually freed himself and kick up sparks in the air and charging through the embers while fighting off the bad guys.

Hanuman

After the show, they invited the audience to take pictures with the characters. I waited in a so called line for a picture with Hanuman, but when people from behind start pushing, I fought them off to stay put until all of a sudden surge of shoving, I ended up outside the pack. -.-" Wtf~ Japanese. So F. I got so pissed, I walked away after taking a last look at Hanuman. The disappointment was there. It was raining heavily then, as everyone marched out in the rain back to their waiting cars. Sis nonchalantly blurted out that photo session are for tourists. Bloody hell, are we not? Anyway, she didn't have the patience to wait for me. So I was equally pissed at her. I kept quite the entire journey back north from Uluwatu to Jimbaran for a supposedly sunset dinner by the beach, but we were greeted by rain. Great. But once we got into the restaurant, we both lighten up. I can tell you that no matter how angry I sometimes get with my sister, we'll cool off in 20 minutes.

This as backdrop? Wtf.

IF ONLY IT WASN'T RAINING.
SIGHS. Jimbaran is a must-go for dinner by the beach. The entire stretch of Jimbaran beach was littered with beach side restaurants, with dinner tables set up by the beach. A must go. It
's Balinese style to grill everything. Not to my taste but I was adminring the beach so much that I forgot how bad/good the food was. But my seaside dinner was spoiled by droplets of rain. BAH.
Rice and seafood. But they serve french fries. So odd, and everything is so dry that we just pack off the big basket of fries for supper.

It was still raining when we finally get back to our hotel by 9pm. At first we planned to check out Kuta by night after the Uluwatu tour, but since it was raining, we just chilled at the hotel room, with french fries, sipping coffee.

Relaxing it was.

Pop-a-Lolli

I still don't understand the Lollipop trend. Sticking a lolli into their mouths and walk around in packs. What's that? I don't remember doing that when I was young. Friends, if you happen to have a picture of me doing that, I shall retract all the comments I've ever made about sticking lollis into mouths.

February is almost Over!

We're almost at the end of the second month of 2008. Blink of an eye.

2 months gone. 10 more months to come. We're all imperfect human beings. We've sinned, we've wronged. Not just ourselves, other people as well. So with so much bad things/damage done in 2 months, and that means Karma has another 10 months to punish us. *gasps* *mai siao siao*

Things I've done (so far)
------------------------------------
1) I've shifted my attention to non-fiction books. I need donations. Thank you.
2) Kiss my boss goodbye, it's time to move on, out of my comfort zone seeking thrills. =K
3) Travel for the first time after my last 3 years without a vacation. (soon, I mean tmr!)
4) Saw Switchfoot LIVE!!
5) Spend a bomb on myself -.-

*
I never felt so disgusted, until yesterday. Not gonna say anything about it here.
Karma's got 10 more months to punish me if I carry that disgusted feeling for more than 1 day.

So I'm just gonna keep quiet this time.

Btw, kiap-ing some flies help me keep calm. Not me alone. Cos I managed intro the game to my neighbouring colleagues, and force them to play. They just brushed me off and say "Wah..Don't want la, what for tangkap lalat, ishhh kau ni." HAHAHA.

In the midst of "seriousness" in the normally peaceful silence, came the sound "poik poik poik", and almost at cue, you'll see raised eyebrows, heads bobbing up from their respective cubicles, and all shared a hearty laugh. Adult cuteness. Heh.

I'll miss them.

Why Big Ass Bikes are Important

This country is heading in the direction where we can't count on the police to guard our safety anymore. We never see improvements, we never see crimes get solved, hopes of finding Sharlinie is slowly fading away, and all we get to see are new bikes zipping around the city on escort duties.

Why do they even need that in the first place? Okay, maybe I am guilty of being ignorant of why the police force needs the use of motorcycles. Traffic, Patrol, Pursuit, Escort. I know, I know. And why did they replace the entire fleet of old 500ccs for these new man-toys? Justifiable too, old ones are expensive to maintain. You get my drift.

Nothing is not justifiable in this country, yes?

Then something genius struck.
It could be that when a man was not a policeman yet, he was ordinary. Like other average Joes. Plain and bland. No different from any other guys you see on the street. No ego to show off. Or he does, but he doesn't show off publicly.

So when this average Joe joined the police force, he was awarded with a badge, that reads Royal Malaysia Police. Note the word royal. Diraja man, don't play play.

So Royal, gua takut

So with the badge, comes the responsibility of protecting the people and preserving peace.
So ex-average Joe now walks around with the badge (as per above) on public display; exercising his rights of telling people what is right and what is wrong. Job well done. So from being ego-less it swells into the size of a badge.

Improvement.

But being with the Police force comes with a whole lot of perks. You get to ride bikes all day and everyday doing absolutely nothing, but cruising. At other times, there are duties that require of him to do some escort work - making way for the fake VIPs through KL's insane traffic. That was that.

So when you couple a powerful piece of machinery - the bike, and the all-access all powerful badge, his ego is now is big as the wheels of his bike.

Honda VFR800 on the left, Honda ST1300 on the right.

Hence, they needed the bikes. So as to strike a balance between ego and work. Otherwise, tak boleh pakai. Need duit kopi.

Valentine's Fever

Oops, they did it again.

Valentine's Day roses for PM Flip Flop. Malaysians hadn't lost their romantic factor. So it seems.

Rallying with roses in their hands might just come down in history as the best decoy ever. A rally had always been perceived as a violent event where very angry people march the streets seeking for whatever truth, change and acceptance they are finding. But when paired with roses in their hands, it sends a different signal altogether. It confuses thy mind; we don't know whether to love or hate. Throw in children to march alongside adults, hand in hand whilst holding roses, I'm confused.

Malaysians Boleh, kan? *chuckles*

Catch a Fly? I caught no ball!

Babbles:
There are some interesting posts on Malaysia-Today.net. Especially those that exposed the details on how corrupted our government is. Did you realise that our ministers and candidates came up funnier responses now that the Elections are near? *chuckles*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I advertise ads from Nuffnang but I can't be bothered to notice whatever is appearing on the top of my blog, but this one caught my eye.

Kiap kiap a fly? What the heck.

Walaw...

-.-" Walaw eh ...

WALAWWWW EH!

Now, would you excuse me, I need to kiap some flies.

++ Update:
I managed 35 flies, but I'm not consistent! Needs alot of hand eye coordination and I gave up after 15 minutes of playing. =P

It Irritates Me

Babbles:
I am allergic to copy cats and braggers. They give me brain pain. Chronic brain pain. It affects my eyes too.

*installs copycat/braggers alert
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I found a cat resting underneath my car. Instead of running off like most cats do, she meowed at me. Cubiness. Green eyes. Fat tail.

Grrr.

I'm thinking of keeping her. *Grins*

Happy Chinese New Year!!

It's only February, second month of 2008. I am not surprised nobody made any resolutions for the new year. We're living amongst people who still practices Stone Age mentality.

A friend had an extra car that she needed someone to drive back to Alor Setar. I am driving my own car back for Chinese New Year, so she needed to find someone else. Apparently, most of my friends from AlorSetar already had their plans worked out, so she had to look for someone else.

So one fine day, I received a call from this friend, telling me that she managed to find a friend's friend to drive it back to Alor Setar. Great. So all I need to do was to hand over the keys to him. Arranging the meeting wasn't hard. Handing it over wasn't hard too. All that I had in mind was to take everything out of her car trunk, dump them into mine, and hand over the keys. Well, I was aware that I left a steering lock, that's it. And the key to the steering lock, car key and a leather key chain that binds them together.

That was it. All he had was the car key, steering lock key, a key chain and a bloody steering lock.

And all he had to do was to drive the car back to Alor Setar, get paid, and say bye bye. The instruction was simple. The task was simple.

When the car arrived at Alor Setar the next day, my friend did not suspected anything wrong. Nothing seemed to be missing from an empty car, duh, besides the fact that the car stinked so bad - it felt like being in a gigantic closed ashtray. Bah.

He smiled and hand over the key. Just a single key. My friend was thinking that I was being very careful that I removed the key chain and even removed the steering lock that she didn' bother asking him about the rest of the keys. Who would have thought???

-____________________________________-"

He took everything he could with him, and still manage to smile at you. Aw yucks!
What kind of mentality is this? That drove him to do what he did? GAWD. It's just a steering lock and a key chain! So unbelievable.

They were here!!!

I want to continuously bang my head against the wall until it's completely shattered.

0929, it's not even a 512. It's my old 32!!!!!

How could I ...

Sighhhhhhhhhhh. But nevertheless, I'm glad I was there.

Their songs has been nothing but inspirational. Deep and they explore our questions and frustrations. Listening and singing to them live simply triggered an influx of past memories, good and bad, and it was overwhelming. I identify events in my life with songs I listen to at that point of time. To get them back to my conscious mind all at once was simply mindblowing.

It's Gratifying.

Btw, you Ang Mohs can go back to wherever you came from. Shall elaborate in the next post. For now, I'm just gonna go digest my thoughts abit.

My Midnight Rant

I am tired of being questioned as to why I don't do this this and this.

Kept bombarding me with questions as to why I still didn't do this this and that.

"Like I told you before."

What'dya say har??

Llalallalalalalla~

Sometimes people don't see anything wrong with themselves, and can only find flaws on people. And they need to point that out so that you make that change, and in turn make them look better. Well, yeah, you can't see your own head with your 2 eyes, I'm not gonna argue on that one, but how far do you have to look to realise that you are flawed too? Look no further.

The human mind is a complex entity, I agree

I appreciate people pointing out my mistakes, I'm more than willing to listen. But when they start to put the blame on me because of their own incompetence, you can fark off. I had my variations versus you and your one and only specialty, and you blame me? Me? Just because you didn't get what you wanted, and stood there like a fool, you put the blame on me. And I gota change to make you look better. You can put it on Akon, he'd be happy to take the blame from you. Bahhhh...

Sad little thing.

For the gazillion-th time, you won't get what you want from me. No such thing as "I was required to ...." It was supposed to be all fun. What requirements and what reputation to uphold? All bullsh*t. It's all stupid analysis and a result of overrating yourself. BAHHH.

You and your specialty deserved a piece of my mind too. But you didn't get that slice from me, cos I don't think it's necessary. I am busy changing myself for the better, not taking the easy way out by blaming others for my shortcomings.

Now I hate myself for drinking teh tarik earlier on. I need some sleep! *roll eyes*

My neighbour says the darnest things!

I overheard;

Woman: Ehhh you know, my car, myvi, i drove up this highway AKLEH everyday. And you know when I go up the slope, I need to press the accelerator until its touching the base, but my max speed 30-40kmph only.
Man: Oh??
Woman: Yalarh! This car har..aiyooo... very hard to drive around easily. (mumbles)
Man: Did you drive up with 3rd or 4th gear?
Woman: (thinks for a while) Where got 3rd and 4th gear?! Auto only got D, 2 and L!

(me: -____________________________-")

Man: Oh no no, what I meant by 3rd or 4th gear was D. An auto car doesn't mean they skip gear shifts altogether, the difference is that its done automatically.
Woman: Owhh.. (ponders)
Man: Or easy, you can just dig a hole at the base so you can further jam it down. *chuckes*

(me: HAHAHHAHAHAH)

Mandat kononnya

"If I get the same mandate, I would be very happy,"

"I don’t think so (can retain the 2004 results). If I get it, I would be very happy. I mean, I am being very very practical,"

His choice of words. Very sad.

Yet he is still sitting around doing nothing to improve things.
And as we speak, he is jetting off to Zurich, Switzerland now.

"I would not know whether they would be influenced or not but I think Malaysians now are better informed and capable of thinking better,"

Of course we are better informed now. Not through mainstream newspapers. All lies.
And we were never stupid. What makes you think we weren't thinking with straight brains previously? We believed in DrM's decision for you to succeed him, not because we think you can.

Asked whether BN sees Keadilan adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as a threat in the coming elections, Abdullah said: "He is not a threat. Who is he to threaten us?"

Oh, you so don't know what this Anwar guy is capable of. He beat you hands down in the head department. *grins*

tired of being pushed around

What?

I was told that my blog is slanting towards political-fun-poking.

I replied bluntly, "I'm no big shot blogger. Who cares?"

Who cares, really? Only a few of my friends read this. The rest just stumbled onto this site by accident or while searching on Google for certain things that somehow listed my blog in the results page.

And I trust them with my heart that they would not turn me in, no matter what.

Or else ...

Fueled by rage and fury, I shall rip the door out while you're in the middle of your whatever business and smack your brains out of you.

My Heroes Addiction

I've been glued to the TV for hours on end, watching the Heroes weekend marathon. I never really have the time to go episode by episode when it was first aired on Star World. Until last Saturday. What I like about Star World is that, it was less interrupted by advertisement breaks, compared to AXN.

I don't think I would it if it was on AXN.

So potong stim.

I don't think I'd watch that on DVD too, too done-on-purpose, no fun.

(Looks forward to this coming weekend)

Eye-splattering!

What do you know about bird droppings?

They deface the surface of whatever they hit, which is caused by the acidic secretions of fungi that live within the droppings, have a corrosive effect.

It's funny how birds "operate". I meant, do business. They just park themselves somewhere, and then just do whatever needed to be done, right there and then. It's an "anywhere anytime" thing.

While they were chirping around happily...
While they were sleeping, standing and sh*tting...
While they were admiring the sunset whilst perching on the best spot they could find...

And when they are done, they leave, along with aplenty of splatters, and that's for you to clean up.

I always strive to start my day with a smile, of which I normally do.
Most of the time, I end my day with more smiles.
But it's hard to smile when you find your car a few splatters, early in the morning.

I cursed at birds who weren't there at the time I discover their little "artwork". I'm puzzled.

Why does birds do it that way??

Cats dig holes and cover them up after they were done.
Dogs ... depends. Some are toilet trained, those who aren't, just shit anywhere. Some sniff sniff and eat it. Yuck. Well, that's a whole other story.
Rabbits, tiny balls of dung.
Elephants ... umm...Nevermind.

I suddenly thought of a brilliant metaphor. This free-sh*tting behavior.
First thing that came to mind was, the Man on Top, what was he doing? Si BirLahWee (belah-we) - literal translation - Jom belah!
We have been constantly cleaning up sh*t, oh wait, we didn't. We chose to live with it.
That Bird of a man leave our roofs with loads of, well, splatter. Watch out, more to come.

Chinese New Year is around the corner, we want our roofs squeaky clean, so please go elsewhere and do your thang, okay?

Salute.

What we need is Love.

I've been listening to people who went through some very difficult problems. Problems close to home. It is not easy to fully understand what they feel, and what goes through their mind when they were dealing with it, unless you experience it for yourself. It's a very difficult situation.

But at the core of the matter, there will always be someone who fights hard to keep them together. Family always stick together, no matter what. In that someone you will find a person of a very strong character, mentally and emotionally, and they are the key to holding things together.

Without a person who is strong enough to handle all the in-betweens, all hell will break loose.
By just listening to them left a strong impression. Something to reflect on. The kind of emotional turmoil they went through in the midst of juggling work, commitments and responsibilities, is beyond what is imaginable.

There is no way I could describe what these people go through everyday.

All I can say is that, I have a profound respect for these strong souls.

A bit of fresh air, please?

Babbles:
Assemblyman shot dead. What next?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is very much needed now.

What is better than to wake up to this view every morning?
It sets a good mood all day long.

This is just exactly what we do not have here. Besides polluted air and a whole lot of other noises. And not to forget, the jam.

Anyway, I wasn't going to discuss about that here. I practically just ... live with the imperfect living environment. That's not too hard, no? It's a matter of perspective.

I met up with an old friend recently. After so many years apart, amazingly it still felt as comfortable as it was the last time we met.

Again, I wasn't going to discuss about that.

Opportunities in life are looked for, I never had the luxury of it falling in front of my face. At a certain point in life, you yearn for a change, for things to change. I have a long list of to-do-things, but I have yet to get any of the major ones done. So my resolutions for the year 2008, is to get the things done.

In case you were wondering where did I keep my all important to-do-list, paiseh, I do not keep a physical copy. It's all in my head.

You can liken it to keeping all the names of your important clients in a single database, and risk losing it all when the server crashes.

Nevermind, I'll remember important ones, and the rest, there's always room for a change.

Happy New Year!

What'dya say? Ego?

Often I hear about groups of girls have problems with other girls over the smallest things.

I felt the same too. Rarely I hear of guys having man problems with each other. Cos they can - take it like a man. Girls = lots of Drama.

That statement still stands, until yesterday.
I've seen first hand how guys have their own version of "drama" too. While girls are so much the real dramamama, guys are worse. They have a fragile Huge Ego.

Unhappy men = dented Ego.

Their reaction to it is abit funny to me. They drew long faces. Stage walkouts. Thank god no vulgarities and name calling, cos they are a bunch of civilised people.

But then again, my point is that, girls aren't the only dramamamas. We have dramapapas too. Woohoo!

Lawnmower

Babbles:
I still have a little green patch left.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What did you know about sticking to what you knew better?

Or ... stick to people who knew your hair better?

Nevermind.

I went to Times Square yesterday, and thought of getting a haircut there. The first salon that came to mind was "Thomas and Guy". So I went around looking for it, not realizing that they had relocated to Jln. Bukit Bintang. So I walked around the mall, and saw Michael and Guys. As I was walking by, the lady at the desk called out, and gave me a flyer.

I was torn between going back to my usual hairstylist, or opting for a new one. But then my mind managed to give me a solid reason to try that one out, "How bad can a short haircut go wrong?"

I decided to give it a try, and walked in.

"Wash and cut, please."

I stupidly ask if her boss was Thomas' brother, Michael. She chuckled and said, "No, this is a different one. (DuH~). Alot of people are using Name and Guys."

I said, "Yeah, funny thing is that, all the stylist here are girls, zero guys." She chuckled.

Anyway, note the difference in spelling, Guy (ghee) vs Guys. They're messing with the name. Hahah. Michael and GUYS (as in the crew of female hairdressers).

During the rinsing process, I was beginning to think that I made a mistake by walking in. She was suppose to be cleaning my hair, not giving me facial. Wth. And not to mention that my entire collar got wet. -.-"

If I hadn't had enough, then out came my "designated" stylist. I smell smoke. Perhaps she didn't even bother washing her hands with SOAP before proceeding with her duty. Bloody ciggy + smoke stained fingers touching my hair! ...

I am so used to having my hair cut after its blown dry. She cut my hair, wet. I asked her if she was going to cut my hair wet, she just said "yeah, wet cut." I replied saying, "Can I have it cut after its blown dry? It feels weird."

"You'll be fine..."

-.-" Stylists are stubborn people. Anyway I am not gonna show any pictures here.

Now, how bad can a short hair cut go? Not bad, just close to being bald.

Happy New Year, people!

Happy New Year!

Babbles: Happy New Year!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I realised on the last day of 2007 that;

  1. McDonald's handwash gel actually smells like dog shampoo.
  2. There was so much hype over the last day of the year.
  3. Or any other occasion which has nothing to do with us?
  4. It's the only time of the year when people don't park at parking lots, but instead park by the roadside just so they can leave the place easier without needing to queue to get out of the carpark.
  5. Some people still dig their nose in public, despite so many year ends they have counted down to, and so many years gone by.
The nose digging part is really gross. I was at the car wash waiting, when there's this chinese guy sitting 5 feet away suddenly stuck his little finger into his nostril, and start digging. And as he started doing whatever he was doing, he dropped his jaw, as to ease his fingers further into his nostrils; and then changed to his index finger. When the other guy returned with his change, he did "the sprinkle" (just like you do with salt), and took his money with that SAME HAND.

Ugh. Gross. And I always happen to catch people in action.

Drumming at a field near you

I'm not going to miss this. I caught them in action during a pocket show, and it was awesome!!!

One heck of a Crack!

Babbles:
New Year's 'round the corner! Count your blessings and start Living!
I met Positive Tone's founder! One heck of a cool guy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I despise people who used money to do damage control.

"I don't care how much it's going to cost me, just bloody FIX it!"

I'm sorry, money can't fix a fractured wall of Trust. No amount of dollar plaster and cash cement will ever be enough to patch the mess up. That damage is irreversible. What about collapsed walls? Go figure!

Some even use money to buy Love. Their so-called-beloved would stick around because they get free meals (plus lodging), party free (including free flow of liquor) and throw in a wardrobe makeover; absolutely FREE. I love you unconditionally (just make sure that wallet's loaded) =P

"I have the money, so what's your problem?"

So you can start and wonder what will happen when some day (touch wood!) in the future, you were cut off from your source of income? Hmm, interesting.
Who do you think you are, Paris?

Even Paris Hilton had to lose what she thought was "already in the pocket".

So whoever said life isn't fair?

Post-Commercialized-Christmas

People are still obsessed with JCo donuts.

Some claimed that it was nothing compared to the one she had in the UK. (so delicious that she can't even remember the outlet name)
"The flour is different, it's richer! Creamier! Sweeter!!" "It's the weather I think!!"

Why compare? It never ends.
Why can't they just be happy with what they got and just shut up and enjoy it?
(Please note that this does not apply career-wise.)

I this, you that, I did, did not, would be, will do, will be, should do, should go, shall do!
Let's just wait til it comes to our shore, shall we? And stop whinning like a baby. You're irritating me. *rolls eyes at the nearest cubicle*

Christmas is so commercialized.
Mystique has the lousiest sound system, no speakers at the back of the room, I get echos from where I'm standing.
People robbed the Christmas tree. Poor thing. By the end of the celebration, "he's" stripped clean of all ornaments and was found leaning against a pillar instead of towering above all.
Talk about Christmas spirit vs Malaysians.

Merry Chrishmas and a Happy New Year!!

Babbles: I've seen a growing rubbishbin. It's spooky, believe me, it growS! And it stinks!

The Bells Rings!

Uber-ugly, but that's not the point

I think there will be roadblocks set up on roads leading into the city again.

These mata-mata makes life difficult.

But I rarely see these mata-mata and also dewabersihanKL (DBKL) carry out their routine Jalan-Jalan Keluar Saman anymore. Why? No festivities coming around? Or have they just got their big fat bonuses that will last them until the new year comes? ...

"I'll be on annual leave from today till 26 Dec 07.
27 - 28 Dec 2007 ( on leave but working in the morning)"

He might as well not tell me that he's going to be on leave. On leave but working? -.-"

I am looking for new challenges in life. Thus ... hire me please.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Babbles: Facebook is getting more wackier. I just got Audited by Janice Ng. I found out where to get Brown Brothers for quite a reasonable price!

Os

I joined the pathetic-kiasu-line a couple of weeks ago.

I got out safe and sound, and in one piece; an hour later.

It's amazing how long queues can attract more people to come join it. Perhaps it was the typical mentality at work; any stores with lots of people sure serves up good food. ... That says it all.

I decided get some of those back to AS.

No. I did not buy so much because "the queue is long and I have to get MAX donuts from there - call auntie uncle grandma grandpa friend's cow and see if they want any". I come from a big family =P

While I did not do what I did, the rest of the people standing in the line, most of them are holding out their cellphones, punching numbers, taking orders. Ah. Great.

Auntie: An neh, an neh!
ManStandingBehind: (huh?)
Auntie: (whispers) An neh, can you help me buy a dozen, glazed donuts?
ManStandingBehind: (-.-") Er...er..Okay. 12 ar?
Auntie: Yes Yes. I give you money, you buy for me, OK?
ManStandingBehind: OkOk.

Like that also can. *rolls eyes* He's a Malay guy btw, and what the hell's with an neh an neh?

ex-Movie Freak

I'm guilty of doing this at work. HA.HA.

Screen Shot

I have the time so SUE me. or FIRE me. =)

Anyway, it's absurd that my world rank is still in the millions (down from 6M), despite having answered ALL the questions they have in their database.

Each correct question gets you 10 points. I answered a total of 645 correct, out of .. I'm not sure how many I answered. Wrong ones didn't count here. I certainly had answered more than 645 questions.

Those who wish, here's the link:

Argh!

I am infected with Kuda Trojan. Damn you Kuda. Amat frustrating. And I personally felt "infected" with some kind of horse virus. Ugh. Can someone who's celik virus please help?

Any effective ways to clean this besides AVG?

Chasing One Tiny Ball is NOT Easy

I've been watching football recently, Interesting, but nothing beats Formula 1 and Tennis. I'm looking forward to next year's night race in Singapore the Kiasu Land. Maybe I should go for the Sepang race too, but I hadn't done that! Don't ask me why, but I haven't been really supportive of the local race, cos I loathe thinking about how corrupt this country is and its frustrating how things are handled here in our Bolehland. They offer lousy race packages, and mind you, its hot here in Malaysia. For now, sitting still for 2 hours in front of the TV will do, but if ever I get the chance to watch a race overseas, I'd be delighted!!

Anyway, for one, I don't read the papers anymore, save Sunday Star and foreign sports section. The rest are all rubbish.

Watching football is easy, playing one certainly isn't. I'm not talking about real football, I played on my game console. Damn bloody hard to score a goal! And for a start, I am only playing amateur mode, not pro! There wasn't much support in automatically switching players, and most of it is done manually, including play strategy. I don't have a bloody strategy! I took England, can't even beat Poland. Then I realised I was the one calling the shots and controlling every player. Ahhhh, my bad. No wonder I lost miserably. Cos England didn't make it to the next EURO! I should try Senegal.

My Strategy

*switches on console*

Why Life is fair the way I see it?

Random. This picture has nothing to do with this post.

Ouch. I can feel my ribs, and it hurts. Definitely not badminton cos I'd been idle for 10 days.

I'm not really a chicken person, but I just had KFC X-Meal just now. The thought of it makes me want to throw up. Anyway, the Indian guy behind manning the counter was a patient and nice guy. The word Indian wasn't significant. Just being specific. I just saw how rude Malaysians could be. Where's your manners?

"Oh shoot, I forgot to put them on today."

It's a small outlet OK, and there aren't alot of places for people to move around in it. When I walked in, there was quite a long queue, 3-4 people ahead of me. Given only one man taking orders, it took a while before it's my turn. There was a lady standing at the side from where I queued up. She's got her food in one hand, while she kept checking on her watch, and fidget non-stop. How annoying. She finally lost her patience and barked at the Indian guy, "Where's my nuggets?!"

The guy just smiled at her, turned and got her her bloody nuggets, apologized for keeping her waiting and kept smiling. Bloody woman just snatched her nuggets and left. Drama. Ok, he's abit slow, but slow and steady. Calm.

There's this guy standing in front of me. He got his order, turned around and just ran into my shoulders, expecting me to SIAMMMMMMM and make way for him to pass. Wth! Not even an excuse me (or any version of that). He just bulldozed his way through. I so wanted to slap his bloody cap so he could see where he's going. Mo.

In the end of the day, I got my food, no one got hurt.

*

You will never understand the pain a person has been put through, unless you experience for yourself. Putting yourself in their shoes only gives you half the perspective, and you are in no position at all to advise but to just keep your thoughts to yourself and just be there for them.

People often suffer from other people's decisions. Hastily made decisions, doing things just for the sake of wanting to do it without thinking thoroughly and weighing the consequences of their actions, slap-dash attitude and selfishness. I am saddened that people around me has to suffer from the actions of these irresponsible people. Yeah right, they say Everything happens for a reason. But it's a choice whether they want to let that happen, they were privileged enough to have that say, and they abused it. When the time comes, they just move on, and left you cold.

Only through hardship can lessons be learned. Only by going through difficulties can you wise up. Only by putting yourself through pain can you learn to appreciate. So what did you lose from the bad experiences people out you through? Nothing. You gained. So much more.

Life is fair. That's what I learned.

Random Rants

I like the evening wind these days. I'm here in KL, physically, but that kind of wind reminds me how it feels like back home. Felt like Chinese New Year, but its months to come.

Reading the daily news only pisses me off more, all those fantastic things our ministers have to say.

"Liar Liar! Pants on fire!"

This morning, I was asked if I ever heard about the Elephant Sanctuary.

Me: (!!@#$%#$% WTF was that?) Never heard of that. Where's that?

Coll: "Well, elephants, a sanctuary for them in Temerloh, Pahang."
"We should be really ashamed of ourselves, I actually heard this from an Australian friend who works as a tour guide, bringing people from Australia on tours and that Elephant Sanctuary was one of the places he brought them to. So katak di bawah tempurung!"

Me: That's his job. Locals don't visit tourist traps. I'm not very much an elephant person, so it didn't matter. We did not even hear nor read about it because the media are busy cooking up lies. *Sigh*

Coll: -.-"

I've been wondering what flamed my anger for whatever is going on around this country had gone from bad to worse. It's beyond help. Vacate your post, you bloody hypocritical leech.

This is a personal blog which gets no more than 5 hits per day. Readers of my blog are people that I know personally. Chances are little that this blog is ever going to be discovered by other readers, by word of mouth or stumbled upon by chance.

This post is so disorganized. No particular topic. Random thoughts.

I did a 100/100 for my appraisal. Shall wait and see what Boss have to say. Looking forward to talk to him soon.

Away

KL is such a depressing place to be in, when every other day, there'll be road closures, roadblocks, and manyak tiup tiup; it created such a tense environment to live in. I jumped at the chance to escape that for one day.

I am now 2 hours away from KL, up north.

Putting myself in some place where no one knows me, and neither do I the rest felt oddly serene. Even embarrassing things you do doesn't feel that bad when you don't know anyone here. I get 2 hours to spend on my own.

Things like walking up to the escalator, only to realize before you put your foot forth that you were heading in the wrong direction, I just laughed it off. People behind me were smiling at my silliness, and I found it funny too. The escalators here operates in a different direction. I got so used to life in KL and the arrangements there, and that little incident kicked some sense into me that life does not always follow well laid plans. Even the best plans have flaws.

I'm going for some red wine with the rest. Til then, adios.

Boss, is this a Joke?

Work takes a huge chunk of my time, daily. Things get interesting when I get to work on problems and solve them. You just spent hours and hours and hours, pouring over search results and typing away on your keyboard to make things work the way you want.

Concentrating for hours on a go does at time leaves me with double visions. It's like you were so focused on one thing, and when you suddenly look up, everything is a blur, and I see worms in my eyes. Mata rosak lar tu.

Since I work on my own, I keep (the Boss) informed through email. Likewise him. (duH!)
But sometimes,

I needed to do a double take. I thought my blurring eye sight is brought to a whole new level. I start seeing obscene stuff? Turns out...
Boss, take a break.

What?

Sorry to hear that England didn't make it to Euro 2008. And I pity Mr McClaren. The whole world is giving him a hard time.

Australians are a bunch of happy people. Aye? Don't you agree? I ask them how they liked KL, the only thing they managed to point out was that it's always jammed everywhere they go and all the time. People here seemed to always be in Rush mode. And with the clogged streets, comes pollution.

Potholes. Landslides. Collapsed buildings. Angkasawan joke. Why don't you, Minister, try wearing your wig reverse? Maybe that will kick some sense into your bloody little brain.

Don't look at me as if I owe you 100 ban. I'm Cindy Crawford's alter ego. Even my trademark mole is on the other side. (I don't have 9 lives)

Virtual Help

What I like about Facebook:
1) You get to see pictures of people you know (and don't know)
2) You get to be in touch with people, by just looking through their pictures and descriptions.
3) It lessens the effort needed to be effectionate (and also to do physical harm to other people)
4) I can smack your head as if I'm standing next to you.
5) I can buy you drinks (without paying), and you don't have to fall out of a club drunk.
6) It prepares you mentally for what you're about to see in real life.

As of today, Friendster did more help than Facebook. Facebook is 1Mx more complicated that Friendster is, but the fact that it takes time to get Facebook organized means Friendster is much more simple and needed less time to maintain.

Preparing you mentally to meet someone usually work fine. Until today. That "babak" is still playing in my mind like an endless loop. Help. So Friendster magic doesn't work all the time. When the Menyampahness melimpah limpah, it just does.

Can I throw a cow at you? *chuckles*

Reverse, you Idiot

Reverse engineering, in non-technical terms, is where you take an end result, then track back the things you have done and what happened in order to get to that stage. Learn-from-your-experience kind of thing. You get my drift.

Round in circles

Likewise mistakes that we make. It's useless to regret and think that you could have done better. Regretting a past incident wouldn't help much, dwelling in it won't help either, but it gives you a learning opportunity. *Sticks mental note* - "Just don't repeat the same mistake twice."

Someone said, "Hey, look at my blue tie!"
I'd say, "Hey, check out my blue hair!!"

-_________-"

Reverse engineering is common, idiot engineering is relatively new, to me.

Confused
Yes. Blue. In this case, reversal of action is not an option. There wasn't any option.
And yes, I've been carrying quite a number of disastrous crazy highlights, and it's still happening. Curiosity killed the cat, but hey, I've got nine lives! Curiosity nailed me this time!

There's this new hair colouring product that came in a tube. Something that resembles uhu glue in a stick. Initially I declined, worrying that I can't get the colour off, but I was told it is temporary - that was the reason I try putting on some crazy colour (but I wasn't told how long was "temporary" gonna be). I was offered to try it, and so I did.

People need not comment or say anything about it. The look on their faces did enough damage. Haha. And I've repeated like a million times why I did it. Curiosity.
I have came to terms with my new colour. Expect it to be there until the next haircut.

Wonder what mum would think about this? *ponders* idiot engineering full fledge
