Old Ways

Installing CCTV to help curb disciplinary problems among students in school.

*chuckles* Pretty insane, eh? Didn't see how it helps. Back in the old school days, "Kena Denda" was such a common phrase. Berdiri di atas kerusi? Berdiri di luar kelas? *Whips!* Kena cubit? Pulas telinga?

But it really worked. Made you more alert; to your surroundings, makes you learn from the whips and pulasans.... And I have to say that people who grew up in that kind of environment, with those "Law Enforcers In School" enforcing Law and Order, we eventually grew up to be well disciplined individuals.

I bet kids these days don't even have the chance to hear/see these things anymore. How much the world have changed. Whippings (except for public whippings) is now termed "abuse". What about Public Humiliation, as claimed by parents? All sorts of other petty things.

Whats the sole reason kids are sent to school then? Just to gain/absorb knowledge that textbooks could offer? With teachers only allowed to act as intermediaries to help "communicate" the words from textbooks into an easier to absorb medium, but not to "teach them a lesson by physical punishment if anything goes out of way"?? Kids these days are too "well-protected" (in other words, spoilt~). Given the rise in the number of problematic kiddos (which eventually became partof them as a grown up), the public only have themselves to blame. Probably they'll have to look back at their current system. Thats the main source of a problem.

"Berdiri di atas kerusi! Berdiri di atas meja! BERDIRI DI LUAR BILIK DARJAH!!

Sweet memories of childhood. We still have childhood stories to talk about. But these days, the term "playtime" refers to onlineGaming, and every other thing that is related to the N.E.T.

Besides getting those berdiri di atas meja/ kerusi (or any other version of that) screams from angry teachers, ever played Cops vs Villian in class?
Picture this.
A dizzying maze of tunnels (oh, did I mention "Underground"?), where you had to crawl your way through these tunnels to catch the runaway villian. the police would have to trail the villians all the way through, trying to beat each other to the game of cat-and-mouse. The villian and the Authorities, armed with handy weapons designed to take down their targets as fast as possible.
Runaway DrugLord vs Cops.

OKok..I made that up. But it was based on a true story. Haa. Our very own childhood game. But heck, it was fun.

The so called "tunnels" were - erm..desks; those you can find in a typical classroom. Given about 40 ++ desks, we made a MASSIVE tunnel system out of that. Eh wait, strike word "make". We didnt even have to Make, its all there, at any given time of the day, month and year!! Our very own playground.
Throw in the 40+ chairs and double the number more Legs (yes, Legs), its more complex than ever! (read: obstacles) *grins!*

No real drugs were involved in our little game, but if you've heard of Dadih, it looked pretty much like dadah, powder form. (even the name is almost the same!). Comes in packs too, transparent packets. Looks exactly like the real thing. (I think!). Up til now, I'm still not sure what Dadih is used for. Its something edible.
And with the help of the many dadah commercials we used to see on TV during our time, I guess all of us pretty much know how drug addicts do them. Take something, tie around ya arm, tap tap find a vein, inject. I think we used rulers. Haha. Close.

Weapons. Lead cases strapped nicely with rubberbands, bullets were made of paper,, and there, we have paper-pults (our idea of a handy pistol/shotgun? - We had to "reload" our paperbullets after every shot). And not to forget those 30cm long wooden/steel rulers. Our so called parangs, swords and the sort.. So full of brilliant imagination, and boy we're so bloody creative.

To start the game? We had an ancient (but efficient, and considerably fast) way of communicating among ourselves. Paper passing. Fast. We wrote messages to every other members, and we start the game, by slipping under the desks, unnoticed. And START CHASING! during the paperpassing process, we had picked the druglords and the cops. So let the Chase begin!

The end? It ends when we hear screams from the "Higher Power". Or when the rumblings downbelow gets a little too loud Or when the giggles and laughter underground gets too loud and got "detected", hence tipping off the Higher Power to take actions.

Gosh. I dont remember how we're able to do that while the teacher is teaching in front of the class. I don't remember being punished/caught playing that underground cat and mouse chase. *grins*

Other students were nice enough to tolerate the constant giggles and put up with the constant rumbling going on underneath their desks. Thats what I call fun. You might not get the whole idea of how its played. But it was the best!
...
Of course, just like present day, there were those wellprotected ones(read: spoiltbrats) around too. Being constantly threatened with "I will tell my mum! You'll know!" makes us do more of what we did. Seeing a tear roll down her cheek, we can expect to hear that bloody phrase being
blurt out from little beloved daughter's mouth. And we were supposed to be scared? Not one bit. Well, I wouldnt say that we were such a bully last time, but heck, who cries all the time
and threaten people with Mummy?!

We made her cry one fine day, think we threw her mechanical pencil into the dustbin (*gasps!*) kekkekeke..and as expected, mummy came to the rescue a couple of days soonafter, and
guess what, we expected that, and we somehow made her mum chase after us, across the field, wearing her bloody highheels! Loud hair, Massive sunglasses, she looks like a scary monster to me. Laughed as we ran. Big bullies! We worked so fine as a team (guess thats were we were instilled the word "teamplayer" in our lives).

It was from little games like that, that we learn how to become a better person.

Those were the days. Never fail to make me smile whenever I think about it.

Distinct sense of dé·jà vu?

My car stalled, so I sat in the car waiting for help. It was cold outside, right after a heavy rain. The warmth from my body caused fog to cover almost the entire 5 windscreens of my car. As I sat in the car and wait a group of people walked by. A group of 7-8, guys and girls. I stayed in the car, was never bothered to even look at them as they walked nearer and nearer towards my car. From afar I can see that one of the girls was holding a can-like thing on her hand. Shaking it as she walks. I was pretty sure they could not see me from outside; fog covered car.

Anyway, something I least expected happened when she walked past my car. She was standing to the left side, right beside the hood of my car. She then opened the can, and start splashing some liquid like thing on the hood of my car. On impulse, I got out of the car, and once I was outside, I saw what that liquid did to the hood. I heard this crackling sound coming from it, and with the sounds, off came the paint. Its acid. That girl just splashed acid on my car. I got this suddenly surge of anger going through my mind and stormed towards her. As I did, she tried to pour acid on me, but I managed to grab her by her hand. Some tried to grab her back, try to hold her back while the rest, just stood and watch, in horror. She brandished a penknife and started swinging it like a madwoman. I managed to grab her by her wrists, and relieved her from the the knife and manage to make her drop that acid filled can.
...
Autumn. Some Games event. Big scale. Thousands of people representing different countries came for the event. All athletes and officials stayed at the games village. The games village is not entirely a new facility. Some of the buildings have the century old look and feel, whereas new
buildings were state-of-art buildings buffed up with high technology devices. There were media centers, athletes common space, a massive cafeteria, medical center, and countless blocks of living space, twin sharing athletes rooms, fully furnished, has a bathroom, as well as suites for the higher officials and other important people.

Some of the buildings were interconnected with each other, which is a good thing, because its chilly outside most of the time and at this crucial period falling sick will be any athletes' worst nightmare. The athletes living quarters is connected to a complex, where they can laze around,
hang out at coffee places, play pool; basically it functions as a common space for the athletes. Connected to the complex, were the games village's massive covered carpak. I remembered seeing a SkateShop at BAsement1. It's always packed with customers.

I fall sick just before the games start. I was advised to seek medical attention at the medical center. I chose to go alone, unaccompanied. I was diagnosed with some mystery illness, I was advised to withdraw from the events I was registered for. I was completely devastated. Had to stay at the medical center for the night, for thorough checking.

Dusk the next day. I took a walk in the beautifully lanscaped garden, overlooking the medical center. I was enjoying the serenity, listening to the sound of the freshly trimmed lawn, and the sound it makes as I shuffled on. From the corner of my eyes, I realised someone is looking at
me. I looked up, and saw him staring at me, a man probably in his mid 4os. He didn't turn away even when I looked at him, and he exerts an eerie feeling about him that disturbs me. I walked away.
...
They were only Dreams. I was dreaming; 2 consecutive dreams. In fact after the first dream, I went to the bathroom, washed my face, and got back into bed; and had the second one. Dreams. Dreams without ending.

Break of Dawn

I had a bad dream last night. I remembered screaming in frustration (in my dreams) and I'm not sure if I screamed out loud.

Frustrations.
Anger.

Thats all I remembered. I don't remember what it was all about, or what was I so angry about. I just couldn't remember.

I woke up at 4 this morning. Couldn't get myself to sleep any longer. Got up instead and showered and get changed and go for breakfast. Halfboiled eggs, toasts and hot coffee. Its not healthy, I know. But I think I'm hungry after spending the night screaming in my dreams. And at 5 in the morning, mamak's all thats left. Haha.

Givers and Takers

There's no fine line defining what makes a Giver and a Taker. I personally do not think that a Giver can be a Giver entirely, nor a Taker be a Taker entirely.

I've heard claims about Givers being exclusively Givers, and Takers, being exclusively Takers. There were also claims about a giver and a taker in a relationship actually helps to balance things off. In that way one gives, another takes, so needs are met and there are no space for complaints about one not giving enough; for the giver's part, or the taker - not getting enough.

Believe me, eventually you'll get sick of being a Giver, and wished that you were both.

Givers have their subconscious needs, no matter how minimal it is. They are a Taker, just that it takes a different form from which they give. Perhaps the best way to learn is to try to understand each other's needs. Communication is still the key. You cant learn without talking to each other. Certain things can go unspoken of, but others, its inevitable. No matter how comfortable you with the unspoken understanding, some things cannot go unspoken. Some things are better left unsaid, some others, are better off said.

Quiksilver Revolution Tour

I had a fantastic weekend. Except for the part where we ran into problems prior to going LIVE with the system. Hmm.Quiksilver Revolution Tour. It was a successful event, drawing so many people out of their shell into the sun. Its not often you get to see Malaysians basking in the hot sun.. fyi, everyone's obsessed
with staying White. (yes..white) except for the Known few.

Its a day where all skaters, surfers, skater wannabes, surfer wannabes, and hotchicks gather. Its packed with people decked out in Quiki boardshorts and Bikinis, Skaters in their baggy outfits complete with their accessories. A pair of cool Shades (or many pairs) is everybody's must-have.

World class skaters and surfers. Besides the massive surfpool, they've constructed a vert ramp and a half-pipe. Cool. Saw the Real thing for the first time.

I returned to the surfpool later in the evening, and LoveMeButch was performing. It was a blast. Love their songs! But I was there to watch TheClickFive, which will be performing by the end of the day, the last act. Surfing demos, again. Apparently this is the only place in the world where people can surf at night, surf in the
lights as it was termed, because there were dangers of sharks and other safety constraints in the open sea. Proud? This event was broadcasted live on Quiksilver.Com, but the malaysian crowd is not as hyped and worked up! Barely responding. Haha..

People having beer on the man made beach. Bodies - Flabby, fit and round? Macam macam ada. There was a group of guys and girls standing beside, and they were the worse. I don't even wanna describe. There's one girl who tried to throw herself on every guy she saw. Friend's friend, friend's friend's friends. Trying to get them to
piggy back her, to hug her and getting touchy feely. wtf.. such a B. eyesore and earsore man..

TheClickFive finally performed, but I was rather disappointed. LoveMeButch did better than that. But it was an something to remember.

Wheels of Life

I was sitting by the window, overlooking KLCC park, with the rain pouring outside. It was fun to watch, and I was totally at peace. OK. I've said that way too many times, the word PEACE. But I really felt that way. My mind wandered off..and it went further and further.

The 5 people you meet in heaven. =P Only met 3 yesterday. The other 2 ...
babi kau... your bloody sixth sense doesnt work! You CHEAT! I wasnt in heaven yesterday, but I touched the sky. *grins*

Wheels of my life are in motion. I'm waiting to see if they ever gain enough momentum to keep on going and gain speed. I'm still waiting for the other piece of the sky, that one place I want to be at this very moment. Wish me luck.

Nokia Roadshow in KLCC. They conduct simple games, using the N70 as a bait to draw in greedy fishes out of the ocean of people. Of course, tempting as it is, its not easy to win something that is FREE. Haha. So there's this one time, MC Daniel called upon volunteers, to play a simple game of "Guess the name of the Song". According to him, a song which is distorted will be played with a nokiaN91 phone, and the person who guess it right (give the name of the song and the artist) will stand a chance to win the brand new nokia N70. I was watching from above, and decided that song guessing IS something I think I'm good at, so I went for it. =P A couple of other volunteers gather around, and the song was played. I was expecting something really distorted, but turned out to be a piece of cake. Muhaha. Will Smith's Getting Jiggy With It. So there I was, moving an inch close to the bloody free phone. So MC Daniel lead me up to the raised platform, so there we were, standing in front of a laptop. I was shown a page full of icons, representing music genres. Pageful of them. So he asked if Im feeling lucky today, and DAMN I DONT FEEL LUCKY after seeing that page full of icons, from which I had to pick one. Each of the icons had either mystery gift or the bloody phone. Everybody's a winner, according to him. And damn, I don't feel lucky at all. Haha. Picked Latin, and turned out, it holds a Mystery Gift, not the bloody phone. Darh... Expected. If I were to be that lucky, I would have won something bigger than that. Haha. What makes it worse is that, the icon which holds the brand new phone, was just 2 icons to the right. DAMN. Haha. Mystery Gift. A Tshirt that says "I AM MY MUSIC" and a Nokia wristband. -_-

I think that I pretty much could do anything at all. At any given time. Being nervous? No. Worry? No. Stage fright? Definite Nono. Fear of getting lost? No. I have sense of direction. Overcame all my fears? Not yet perhaps. Haha. Ignore me.
I've learnt to be so calm. Calm. CALM.

The Sweetest Thing

Its a Wednesday evening and I thought of catching a movie. I went home, get a shower, get changed and I'm out again. Just wanna get rid of the mud on my overgrown hair (read : mess). The pleasant after-showers breeze are just as cool and calming.

Made my way to the Cinema, and I was surprised that its almost deserted. Odd. Its a Wednesday. Decided to watch The Producers. Been craving for Sushi (solved my PeanutButter craving). Switched from SushiKing to Genki. Yucks SushiKing. =P
Quiksilver (again) is one of the shops I frequent. People there were nice, and I love the things they have. They even offer personal opinions on which cap looked good on me. Haha. Nice people.

Not many would chose to watch a movie like The Producers (judging from the number of people in House6 last night (total of 12)). I would say its a must-watch, if you love musicals and witty and funny lines,, not to forget - mocking Adolf Hitler (the funniest part). I was laughing away.

The sweetest thing a stranger could do to you is to smile. I had one last night and I could still remember until now. A foreigner. Malaysians would only glare and stare.

Don't ask me why I like to spend time alone. I just don't know how to answer you. I've reached a point where I am so at peace with myself, and the last thing I need is someone to screw it up.

Up All Night

I should really be sleeping right this moment. You've no idea how many hours I've been awake.
If you happen to be cruising around town anytime at all, notice that we have the funniest street names..I'm not gonna disclose the names here, but heyDisney, those names makes us crack each time we talk about it. hahaha!

Impatient malaysian drivers. I was told to BerTolak, which I already did, and got honked because I was driving so slowly. (Was told to drive SLOWLY..LHaammmmBHattttt). My sampan berbumbung made it to its destination, anyway.

KL Tour by night, with Idiot2. Started off by sipping overpriced coffee and tea at BintangWang, MV. Mocha cheesecake? Hardly even warmed the couch, and its already closing down. Everything closes down at that hour of the day la.., and the only 2 things that never stop moving were our busy mouths. yak yak yak...So we moved on to the next destination. (keep in mind that we had a cuppa, and cheesecake, which should be Filling enough til breakfast the next day...)

WongKok, SS2 was the next stop. I just crave frenchtoast (peanut butter, to be exact) so much. Was thinking about it (while at work) earlier yesterday. Muahah. Wish fulfilled. Despite having had a cuppa and cheesecake, we ordered frenchtoast and some fish dumpling stuff. Genius ordered something that looked and taste like detergent. Lavender something...which is Purple in colour..and with something in that colour, I doubt its edible. or should I say, Drinkable. You survived the night, so I think its safe to drink. We're the opposite of M.O.N.O.tonous. And again we yak away til they close down.

City by night. Minus all the traffic. Found Peace. Massive houses in Sri Petaling, Brightly lit empty streets, Jalan Haji Taib 5 with interesting people roaming around..., back to Setapak to update ms-used-to-be-a-student-there about how that place had been since she was gone, gone along Jelatek, out to Jalan Ampang where Alexis is, then down to KLCC, to the clubbing areas; deserted, travellers sleeping on the grounds of KL Sentral, seen alot of 24 hours makan places, completely deserted streets of Bangsar, barely lit Desa Sri Hartamas and Mont Kiara (was looking for the new Haagen Daaz place..but found Baskin Robbins instead =.= ), except for the street lamps, back to Imbi where we thought of having teochew porridge for breakfast but they closed down at 4?!, a KFC in Bukit Bintang that we doubt if its open 24 hours, and finally settled for a super duper yummy beef noodles. Haha. 24Hours Drive Thru McDs are mushrooming...Practically everywhere...OK. covered almost every part of KL. Why? Because caffeine is working its magic. Its fun, believe me.

Mindxersizing

I've been playing alot of badminton lately, twice a week perhaps? i think its great. gives my body a little bit of working out, real working out i mean. i walk quite alot daily though, to and fro train station and the Bank. Only recently i started to drive to work (tell me, Hiau or not? petrol prices up then only i start to drive. =.=) But it takes like 15-20 minutes to reach my workplace, without getting jammed or having to crawl bumper to bumper nor do i have to curse under my own breath (i don curse, but hey, thats what everyone else does!) I enjoyed the peaceful drive to work, with AllAmericanRejects screaming from the car stereo. Eh..I love their songs so much. And I bought the CD because I've got nothing else to buy. Surprisingly it turned out to be a great CD! Highly recommended.

Just this afternoon, Disney called. And screamed at me for putting that pathetically nice song as my caller ringtone. =P sue me sue me sue me! Asked me about movies she should watch. I can tell you that IceAge2 wasnt exactly that nice. Besides its animation that LOOKED SO DAMN REAL, even the fur moves according to the wind direction (According to penpal, it took years to complete this!) Thats why I paid attention the the fur each time there's a close shot of FUR. Haha. Muaha..Sorry, I've watched almost everything on the screens right now. =P im a certified movie freak. Pathetic, I know, but its just something I enjoy doing so much. And wei, stop "visualizing". *chuckles*

I have extra MMC cards here. Dont ask why. And I dont know what to do with it or whether I should do anything about it. Doink~ I think I have 32Mb, 128mB and 2 512mB. eh..doesnt look like I'm opening a gallery or MMC museum any sooner with my "small" collection of "masterpieces". I'm not gonna do anything about it. You you and you will stay there and collect dust.

hmm...

when a stranger calls...

...
For the first time, I don't understand what I'm watching, besides the spooky music throughout the entire show.

*spoilers ahead... (You've been warned)
The show starts with a cruel murder of a girl who had been getting so-called prank calls from an unknown caller. Well, I concluded that its a brutal murder, because her body parts were carried out in different bodybags, and surprisingly, she was killed without a weapon (how can that happen? you cant just tear bodyparts..rite?) Plus, I don't get to see how she was murdered. Just the facial expression of a guy who took a peek at the murder scene tells me that she didnt die that "nicely". Ok..that was fine. *(But I expected things to be explained in later scenes.)

Then the story unfolds, revolving around Jill Johnson, Bobby (Boyfriend), Tiffany(ex best friend), Scarlet, and later, the beautiful house by the lake. Didnt know why she had to babysit the Mandraki's children, the night the bonfire was suppose to take place. While the rest of her pals are going to the Bonfire thingy, her dad sent her to the Mandraki's residence.
The mansion was eeriely expansive and secluded. bla bla bla...

Rosa (the cleaner) died while feeding the carps, though I wasnt shown how she was killed. Tiffany, who dropped by the Mandraki's place, to pay Jill a visit (Why bother? duH), and on her way out, she got herself killed, by..someone. It wasnt even shown (again!). more Blah blahhH BLAhhhhhhhS..

When the police managed to finally trace the call, which supposedly came from inside the house, chaos la..apa lagi. Jill got the kids, and there was alot of cat and mouse chase. Went on and on. ok. First, I havent have any clues at all, on how the "killer" chooses his victims. Who is he anyway? He doesnt even have a name! Damn. Why did he chose the Mandraki's? Or did he chose that mansion, because he knew that Jill's gonna babysit the kids alone? How did he knew that she was gonna babysit them? How did he even get inside of the so-called highly secured tech-loaded home? And he get himself caught too easily. Jill nailed his hand to the floor with a sharp poker she took from nearby the fireplace. ... and thats the end of it.

... I was left with so many questions. I'm done complaining. Maybe you should watch it and tell me whether you have just as much questionmarks flying around your forehead?

...

Dirtiest things you had to get your fingers on almost everyday:

  • Keyboards - Ugh..you'd never know what they have touched or do with their hands earlier. And..you could tell from the current cleanliness level of the keyboard..
  • Mouse? - equally dirty as the keyboard
  • and oh, did i forget to mention the dangling handles which were suppose to help you stay in place in moving trains? (*wipes face full of sweat and then just grab hold on the strappy thing? eww..its not a face towel, hello??)

Muahaha. Its unavoidable. Something you could do nothing about? I'm basically working with keyboards and mouse. Tell me when it could be voice controlled. Haah.

Ugh..

Lunch Time.
*yawns*
I consume the same bloody thing we call "food" everyday, everything taste the same to me now. Anything that goes through my mouth, down my throat and through the rest of my digestive system. It tastes the same.

Im moving out of this hellhole. A place I call "my room" (not Home) for the past 10 months. Heehe. Getting slapped with a parking ticket, helped me made up my mind. Thats so gonna be my last. LAST! @#$#%^%
What was I thinking when I moved in there? Was it because I spent a good 4++ years studying and staying in that area, and it only make good sense that you stick to somewhere you're familiar with. Call me a person of Habits. Perhaps subconsciously, I have my own "other" reasons as to why I chose to stay. That'll be my secret. Thanks, Idiot2, i'm moving out for GooD! =P (and Im no Termite)

I'm gonna become blind really soon. I could feel my eyesight getting from bad to worse. Everything is a blur, without my glasses or contacts. And I hate to not be able to see. Glasses = Troublesome. Imagine that your scope of view is within that 2 frame in front of your already so-small eyes. Darn. I hate it. But I've never thought of going for LASIk..not til that extent. HAha.And Oh, I have a new found interest, Shades and Glasses. Probably got that from Mum. "Encouraged" indirectly. We could spend hours checking out new shades and glasses, while sis sits beside trying not to fall asleep. Haha. Mum set her eyes on a pair of HugoBoss shades. Looks darn good on her. *grins* Love mum and dad.

As I type away happily, its raining heavily outside. I had my car washed just yesterday night (believe me, I've never seen any car as dirty as that!) Its a shame to drive around. Haha. Its freezing cold in here and I've been junking with my fellow colleagues. Havent been doing so since god knows when. Sheesh. Perhaps I'm living a squeaky clean and healthy life, that I should learn to take in a bit of bad stuff in my body just to get my immune system working. =P

Lunch time over. Good Day people! Realised that you people who reads this, are the expected few. I mean those who reads and drops comments (so I know you've been there, cos u left ur "mark" there) The counter on my blog, is not helping much. Just mere Number and figures. Not that I care if I get High number of hits. This is a place where I spill whatever shit on my mind. Not everything though. I do it offline too. *grins*

Death is Everywhere

People die, just like that. Freak accidents. Its hard to bite chew and swallow.
Few days earlier, the freak accident involving a man hit by a helicopter rotor blade.
Just this morning, dad told me that my grandfather's close friend died in an accident in Johor. A van full of people, but he's the only one killed. *sigh~*

Death is everywhere.

Quote of that Night :
"The cut will only go as deep as you let it to. Think about it."

p/S: Thanks to you, penpal666 (yeah ..the codes still work~). You have no idea how much you've helped me with that very sentence. And also the following things you said to me after that.

Idiot2, muahaa..you're crazy. We were talking about choco shit at wee hours in the morning. Until I got tempted by the smell of chicken coming from downstairs. Muahaha..Both idiots prefer to Type rather than to Talk. Muahah. Make sure we don't analyse debug and solve. That is so not gonna work. Lets remind each other that things Dont go by the rule all the time (If you readers think you understand what I'm trying to say, Well Done! )

***

I'm rather calm and I'm definitely at peace. Despite having experienced something rather New to me just recently. Discovered that All American Rejects is a Brilliant band (bought their album!). penpal666 thought that they were those contestants rejected from American Idol; hence the band name : The American Rejects! (*grins* haha..anyway, its easy to tell as to why you can come up with that connection between both things! ) hahaha..

I've been awake for the last 30 hours. Cool? Had some caffeine-rich drink (coffee..DuH)

gonna catch some beauty sleep. Goodnight everyone.
